I''ve been looking for quite a while, and this stone looks spectacular to me. Jonathon has been really wonderful, and very pleasant to work with.

I''m a bit apprehensive that looking at so many non ideal ones, my judgment has been compromised

-In the Diamond 1 picture, the lower left windmill and lower left corner table look to be longer than the rest. In the Microscopic 1 pic, you can see it in the upper right hand side. (it is more evident if you save the image then rotate). Is this an issue, or am I nitpicking?

-The initial Sarin 3D had the windmills tapering off to lines towards the culet (see Diamond 2 pic).

-The initial Gem Advisor had this performing at poor for all tests

Apart from the Asset and updated reports, do I need anything else? I do think this is an amazing stone, just wanted to make sure my eyes have not failed.

Thank you for your advice & opinions!

the sarin file is totaly useless it didnt track the last step.

Ah ic, thanks.

ooh sorry Mellec730, I didn''t know you were looking at it too. Last week Jonathan said he''d have pics posted soon, so I''ve been checking GoG religiously seeing when it''d be updated. Didn''t realize you posted here earlier today.

if this one doesn''t pass since 2 people are looking for the same kind of stone it gives him an incentive too call a bunch of them in and sort out the best 2.
That can be a very good thing for you both :}
this one is likely the second stone of a pair someone had called in and they bought the other one.

I just got a 1.76ct asscher from GOG the other day. Storm gave it the thumbs up. It was a nice stone.

Anyway, Jon also called in a 1.64 F VS1 that was major kicken. Maybe you could ask Jon if it is still available.

Best Regards,

D

Ooh thanks Storm, for your assessment and encouragement. Hopefully it will work out for M & I.

Thanks D, Congrats on your stone! Yes, the 1.64

it''s a bit out of my budget unfortunately.

What is the etiquette for deposits etc? Should I ask for opinions here before I leave a deposit, or vice versa? I left a deposit for this stone because to my eyes it was great.

Hi! There is a video now (that I can''t watch ~ macs don''t play wmv files?! going to use friend''s computer in a bit)

Does that help determine anything?

Storm, is the main concern not enough light return? Is the pattern, everything else good? GoG has been looking for a few weeks, prior to that my fiance had been looking for months, and we didn''t see anything half as nice as this stone.

Of course I want a kicken Asscher, and would like to wait for it to come along. Jonathan has given this his approval, and I highly value his opinion, as well as everyone here. Is this one of the stones that are great, but have iffy optics/test results?

Thanks again for everyone''s help!

downloading the vid now its slow...
diamxray looks better than the picture.
This one is right on the edge.. will post again after watching the vid.

With all due respect too Jon this is a stone iv got too disagree with him on..
watch the center of the stone closely around these times in the vid:
times are aprox as I jotted them down while watching it..
1:17
1:34
4:15
4:27
4:45-451
5:17

See the black hole effect in the center?
That is why I would reject it, too much obstruction center and not enough return.
Watch the 1.65 center always has some light return too anchor the pattern.

Thanks Storm! Was hoping for better news, but I appreciate your honesty and expertise. When I saw the video earlier, it was definitely brighter than the 2 ct to the left, but I also thought the 1.6 ct was flashing more light. Thank for for noting the times with such detail, I''ll view it on my friend''s computer when it''s free.

O boy, I had high hopes for this one
