I got engaged 2 months ago. Here''s my problem. Fiance gave me a ring that is .30 in a solitaire tiffany 6 prong setting. Not a bad looking diamond, its eye clean but has no Cert. Let''s just say, no research went into his process of finding this ring. Fiance lives in North Carolina which is where the ring purchase was made. I live in New Jersey. He''s been a full time student there and will finish in a week and we''ll be living together in NJ! Yippie.
So he knows I am a little unhappy more with the setting than the diamond. I''m a hairstylist and the prongs are catching on hair every time I shampoo someone. The profile is high, so when I put on gloves to apply color the prongs poke thru. So I''m lurking around here for info as to what to do. As soon as the fiance'' moves here and finds a job(please pray) he and I will choose a new setting and perhaps a new stone depending on the job. But question is, do I go back to North Carolina and upgrade with the jeweler he used or do I just keep this ring and start from scratch?
What do you think of a bezel setting or semi bezel for my work issues?
