And thus began my obsession with Lora Zombie. I am generally an art appreciator, but not a LOVER. I seek out museums, but do not spend hours in front of a single painting, considering symbolism and the like.

But Lora's stuff has sent me into a tizzy. I am IN LOVE with this woman's work. I mean, I love it as much as I love diamonds. Looking at it makes me that INCREDIBLY happy, like a unicorn has exploded inside of me.

So far I've ordered 4 signed prints and her signed, limited edition coffee table book. And it's only going to go downhill from here. She's been in Montreal doing new work for the last few days, including these incredible unicorn wooden cutouts. I swear if any PSer snatches up this skeleton one before I manage to buy it, I will FIND you and SNATCH it back! (No really, I will. )

She has a show coming up in November (in Toronto, you Canucks!), and they anticipate her releasing some of her new originals around then (there are some originals for sale at Eyes on Walls right now, but they don't speak to me like her vivid, colorful work). I feel allllllll of my disposable income melting out of my pockets, thank to you two ladies. I will not rest until I have one of these incredible paintings on my wall!

Yes, prior to her being at the Montreal office, I had been hemming and hawing about which print to order and hadn't done so. When I saw she would be signing them - I ordered all 4!

In the last week, she's done some new limited edition screen prints as well, plus a variety of the wooden unicorns. Apparently she's also sacrificed up her sketchbook, and those images will be up for sale relatively soon.

I've spent some time on FB and Instagram tracking her time in Montreal. She's building quite a following and I think I'll have to be rather proactive (especially with time zone differences) to snag one of her original pieces.

But jeez do I feel like a stalker of this eccentric blue-haired artist! At least it means I've seen a dozen photos of her cats, one of which is is cutest Sphynx on earth!
