OK, I posted the other day about how sentimental I am to my ring.
Well, what about having the setting changed and keeping my own diamonds??

This is what I have been thinking about.... a channel set wedding band. Thats great but i am confused with my center stone.
It is about .30 or just a little biigger. It is small and I love it.

Do you think it is big enough to stand alone?? maybe in a cathedral setting??

Just to let you know what my original ering and wedding are.... shared prong semi eternity.
Very danity though. There is only 7 in the wedding band 7 in th ering. that is including the center stone.
Very petting ring just can''t stand all the prongs.

I have been stressing about this for awhile. Currently I still have a cathedral setting that had made at the jewelers and were going to put a 3/4 diamond but I love my small one. I love this setting but would have to be remade to acommendate my stone.

HELP HELP HELP!!!

Izzy, if you haven''t seen it already, you should check out the thread on under 1ct diamonds. here''s the link. there are pages and pages of gorgeous under 1 carat e-rings. on the first page is a .27 in a solitaire and it''s lovely.

I have seen that thread but I was just wondering some thoughts.
I have been trying to find more rings with this size diamond by itself and I am having a hard time.

Someone else here is getting a new center stone and using their original diamond as a side stone to make a 3 stone ring. If you are going to the expense of changing settings for 2 rings, I''d be sure it will be something that you will love long term. But if you''d love your current stone as the center stone, that is perfectly fine!

Izzy,

Maybe this will help you vizualize a .30 in a solitaire? This is a picture of my original wedding set. The ER is .30 ct J VS1 and it is sized 4.5.

So, is this size diamond ok to stand on its own??

I agree. You will just want a dainty wedding band with small stones that don''t compete with your e-ring diamond.

I am glad you think it can stand on its own!!

My wedding band has seven .08 diamonds in it, are these going to be overwhelming in the way I would to reset my ring??

I don''t think they would overwhelm your center stone at all...more of a nice accent. What does everyone else think! =)
