Just went to my local jewellers and I'm baffled....

So i live in Aust, small country town etc and there are two jewellers that would be able to create a custom upgraded engagement ring. Today i thought i would go in and have a squiz at some of there e-rings. I feel ripped off and i didn't even buy the ring!! but they had a new design in stock with a 1.04ct RB in a halo setting (1.5 ctw). Looked amazing until i looked closer and saw that it had this huge inclusion which took up nearly half the stone. It was a G/H P1 (lower than a I3, Is that even possible?!?!) for $10k IS it me or is that a HUGE rip off!?!? I am thinking that when i get the green light from the hubby i will be buying from a reputable online American jeweller......

Wow, that sounds HORRIBLE!!!!! I'd run away so fast! You're much better off buying something for our recommended vendors.

p1 is the european nomenclature for I1.

Of course, the accuracy of the clarity grade depends on who and which lab issued the report for the diamond.

diamondloveaffair- i asked her about it and she reckoned it was after I3.... As i questioned her on it as I've never heard of it before ! But thanks for clearing it up

-Bella- even by Australian prices that's a rip off. If you are anywhere near Sydney, I can recommend my diamond dealer and jeweller. Both are fabulous, but I understand the lure of buying a gem from overseas.

I am a.ways shocked when I am in Italy and see the prices for very small, included diamond engagement rings.

I'm in Australia too and have made all my diamond purchases online from PS vendors in the US, and have helped friends to do the same. I know it's important to support local business etc etc, but diamond prices here really are astronomical.

rip off! Go elsewhere!!! The ps vendors are all great places to start and have their abilities on display in SMTB. Good luck!
