I know that no one can truly answer this but me....but I am not sure if I am completely happy with the size of the diamond...the ring is stunning....set on a JA white gold diamond channel band.....but is it big enough??? I could probably stretch my budget another 2,000 if I absolutely had to do it....I figured that this diamond was a great deal and the .90+ was a real sweet spot for diamonds.

Its diamter specs are.....6.31- 6.32 X 3.88 .....I could probably do a WF ES....1.22 SI1 I color with the following diameter specs....6.86-6.88 X 4.26

is it the size difference worth the $2000?

Is this ring for you or are you planning on proposing with it?

Well, there will definitely be a good bit of difference in the diameter. But, only you can really say....Sorry I can't be more definitive.

It might help to look at it in "forever" terms. In other words, if you're only going to be buying one ring (no upgrades), and it's going to last her forever.....

If this is a proposal ring, what size finger does your gf have? What are her expectations (if you know about carat size)? What size diamonds do her friends and family wear? In my world anything over a half-carat is gi-normous.

I am proposing with it...I mean it really is beautiful...maybe I should just suck it up and stop being cheap

So you think that the size difference will be significant to the eye?

Yes. However size isn''t everything, though if you took a poll, most would say go bigger. I''m not a real "size" gal, but if you can afford it (that''s important, don''t go in debt), I''d say go for the larger stone if you''re so inclined. That''s not "overly" large, just a really nice size. They do tend to "shrink" a bit after wearing them a couple months.

If you can afford it without going ino debt, go bigger.

Thanks for all the feedback! It really helps! I think I may shell out the extra cash..and go bigger....I just don''t want there to be any doubt at all....I think if I am doubting it even a little bit than she will definitey be doubting it.

Well good luck, let us know what you end up with!

If you''re questioning your decision now, it''ll only get worse later on. Go bigger and be satisfied with your choice!

Yup, I agree -- if you''re having doubts, go bigger. Now''s the time to do it since it sounds like you''re well within your return window. The 1.22 sounds like a well-cut stone, too (and you will be able to tell the difference in size, I think).
