Hi All,

Too bad I didn¡¯t know about this site before making my final decision on a stone. After seeing about 70+ stones I made up my mind on this particular one.

1.43CT H VSI1
Cut Grade: Excel
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Excel
Fluor: Strong Blue
Table:57%
Depth:61.6%
Cutlet:VS

My main priority for choosing a diamond was the cut then the coloration. Since the Fluorescence seems to make the stone look white as E/F color stone, when compared side by side, I made my choice on this one. I made a deposit for this stone for a final sale price of $8800.

Since everyone has seen different stones from difference places your opinions might give me better idea if I made a good choice or not. Please post your opinions.
Thanks

We need more cut info to make any real determination in cut. What grading report does the stone have? AGS and recent GIA reports will have pavilion and crown angles that are needed at the very least for cut determination.

Of course, you put money down on it, so hopefully it looks pretty decent if not great!

If it''s a GIA Excellent cut and if you saw it and were impressed then I think you were right on the money. That stuff about crown angle, pavilion, etc. is only important if you haven''t seen the stone--it gives you an idea of what it would look like in person. You saw it in person.

Congrats.

I only asked for more cut information because the poster said he was concerned most with cut. And unfortunately, many people do not really know what a high quality diamond is, regardless of how many diamonds they might have seen, since we do not know if they actually ever saw an ideal cut diamond.

Its GIA

crown angle 34.5
pav angle 41.2
crown 15
pav depth 43.5
gridle thin medium

I think that is all the information, Does this help?
Thanks

SI1 or VS1?

ops...LOL

VS1

While the pavilion angle is deeper than preferred, it seems like the strong blue flouresence is bringing a substantial discount. I'd probably put it in a setting where some light can get in through the back and buy an ultrasonic cleaner to keep it really clean.
