I just got back from Michael C. Fina in NYC and saw the most incredible rings. I fell in love with a beautiful 1.50ct Cushion in a Mark Patterson ring. The sales associate their told me that when we purchase the ring we are going to become members of this really exclusive loyalty program they just introduced called Engage. Apparently we will earn points for every dollar we spend. They told us their is everything from big screen tv''s to my personal favorite Judith Leiber handbags but my BF loved the fact that he could get a chance to play pool with the black widow herself.

Does anyone have any info on Michael C. Fina? They seem to be really good.

Yep, love their store but wouldn''t buy there.

A couple of years ago we went to their "private" sale. I saw a ring i thought was pretty and asked to look at it. It was a 2.00 ct sapphire with two very small diamonds on the side .15 each.

When i asked how much, the sales associate looked at the price, did the math (40%) off and came back with 26k. That meant the original price was 42, 43k??!!!
We were drinking their champagne and i swear to god i choked on it.

Moral is, very pretty pieces, most are overpriced.

Do not be foold by any type of "exclusive" club. I went to their "private" sale which they claimed was by invite only- but stood next to the door at one point and anyone was able to walk in.

Personally, I definately would Not decide where to buy based on some kind loyalty program. To me, that says they need gimmicks to attract customers - if you have great products and customer service, and reasonable prices, you don''t need gimmicks..
just my 0.02 of course

Thanks for the info. Thats really interesting because the ring I saw was a 1.50ct Cushion. H color, VS2 clarity and was only $8,900. The sales associate told us the most important thing with a cushion cut is the look. Is that true? They did have alot of other diamonds to look at. I could not belive the selection. They showed me at least 10 different loose stones all about the same size and i can''t even remember how many more that were mounted.

I wonder how many other one post wonders will be touting for Fina today? What a coinky-dink

I''m not even sure what that means. Did she tell you what factors make for a cushion that looks good (or great or excellent)?
