We went to a halloween party last night. DH was McCain and I was Palin. We had a lot of fun with equal people telling our characters that they love us or hate us.

DH thought it would be funny if he walked around with stiff arms, like McCain (so not nice, I know), and I had fun talking to everyone in a folksy accent.

Sidenote: DH looks nothing like McCain...thank goodness. lol. But when I sprayed the white in his hair I almost had a heart attack....he looked exactly like his FATHER! That could be even worse! lol

Disclaimer: We were not them for halloween because we "admire" them, we were them for halloween because they are funny. Just in case anyone is thinks I'm obsessed or something.

Ah, you two look cute; great job!!!

I love it!!! You guys look great! How fun!

hehe. Thanks skippy!

Here is another one, when I had my hair half up/half down. It was perfect when I first did it, but the Texas humidity made it fall flat.

That''s why I put it up in a bun.

We both had American flag lapel "pins". REAL lapel pins are soooo hard to find. So I went to the mall and bought two american flag belly button rings and transformed them into pins.
My other "pin" said "Drill here, drill now, pay less!"

Really cute Lucky, y''all are adorable! Also love what you did to make a flag pin, very creative.

You guys are super cute Lucky! Your DH's hair is just perfect, and of course I love the way he is holding his arms.

Now promising we weren't copying...but DH and I went as Palin and Joe the Plumber last night to a party. DH has no hair so it worked out better, we didn't even think of him going as McCain. I wore my naughty high heeled black boots with a pencil skirt (above the knee) with a three quarter sleeve green jacket. Sadly I don't own a red or pink one, (yours is perfect!) but teased my hair up and then stuck a scrunchy inside the hive to make it high enough. Got some glasses at Claire's. I just can't do the accent!
DH wore what he thought was a plumber costume, sagging jeans and a contractor sweatshirt. I actually already owned several flag lapel pins, but didn't think to wear them and had to ironically cover an old Gore pin to make a Palin McCain pin. I did not think to take a picture, but we won the contest at the party so someone will email me one soon. DH was concerned that guys would hit on me dressed as Palin, ha! It was fun to dress up, I know you aren't obsessed, its just funny

Ha! You guys are good, lucky! If only your husband''s skin was a little more mottled and old looking!

And swimmer-I can''t wait to see your pics!

I don''t know what to be for Halloween and I have a big dance party to go to on Halloween so I have to think of something good!

Lucky, you guys looked great! Too funny! BTW, I think those are some pretty popular costumes this year . . . Elledizzy and her SO are going as Palin and McCain too! She has promised to post pics.

Well done, Mr. and Mrs. Luckystar! You two could pass for cardboard Palin/McCain standup figures in that first picture, and I mean that in the best possible way!

We''re looking forward to seeing those pics, swimmer!

Lucy you and your DH look great! Your outfit will look identical to Palin''s if you wear a black skirt and a pair of leather boots. I like the hairdo in the first picture too!

Ok phew...I''m glad you all got the joke.

I''m defintely excited to see Swimmer and Elle''s outfits too!

Wanna hear something funny?
I kept thinking about how I could make the costume better, and I thought about getting one of those shoulder wrap things that people use to hold their babies (I can''t remember what they are called!). And instead of putting a baby doll in it, I was thinking about putting a stuffed elephant in it. So then I was thinking about where I could find a stuffed elephant and I had an "ah ha!" moment because I remembered that I had a stuffed eyeore doll at home.
So I''m all excited, until I remember that eyeore is a DONKEY.
In other words, I almost pulled a real Palin!

HAHAHA! It would have made your costume even more authentic, though!

Just don''t wear that outfit too long...you don''t want whatever Palin''s got to rub off on you!

LOL LOL LOL

We are dressing up this year (2nd time in a row, after a long break---). He is still going to be Donald Duck, and I will be a Chemist instead of Minnie (which I was last year). I work in a Chemistry Department. They got me a white coat, googles, and a beaker.

Too funny lucky! You guys look good!

Great pics, Lucky. THANKS for sharing!

DH and I are considering doing this too. I look NOTHING like Palin, but could rock a beehive-ish hairstyle! DH suggested i carryy a fake rifle and stuffed animal moose. We''ll see if we can pull it off.
