Hi all!

I''m a bit new to the PS forums but have referencing all it''s vast information during my long search (online and in store) for the perfect engagement ring. Well, I finally pulled the trigger and bought one! I know I might sound a bit silly but it''s all very exciting and I wanted to share it with the best diamond community/forum/resource out there.

We''ve both had our eyes set on a 1+ carat D VS2+ Asscher cut for a while and it was a battle deciding whether to get it in person at a retail location or online both ways (already set or loose). We came across several stones online at various prices, sizes, etc. and although they were priced lower for some reason it had become difficult to consider making such a large purchase (well, for me) without seeing the stone in person first and without the service and assistance of an established B&M store.

Two days ago, I guess by a stroke of luck, we were walking the streets and came across a jeweler with a beautiful 1 D VS2 Asscher. It has a larger table than most but sparkled like crazy indoor and out in the sun. We matched it with a slim side stone setting with 2 tapered baguettes on each side and are having it set with a slightly higher setting.

The lady helping us did mention that the stone will appear slightly larger once it is set compared to viewing it when loose. Is this true?

I really do hope it turns out nice. I''m picking it up this Saturday and am a little nervous hehe. Now to figure out how to propose and make it seem like somewhat of a surprise. Well, cheers all!

Congratulations on choosing such a wonderful ring!

I understand that fancy cuts can be the most difficult to pick, it seems that it is best to choose with your eye, particularly as preferences in %''s can be personal. So it is super that you passed by your beauty! I understand why you had to snap up a stone like this one. And I love the D, my baby is a D and I love the icy colour (or lack there of

).

Have you proposed yet? Please do not make your intended wait too long. Life is too short to ''not be wearing'' a ring like that

Its very pretty! Well done on a great choice!!

I love the side baguettes with the asscher! Beautiful ring!

As far as the proposal goes, do it SOON!!! It doesn''t have to be complicated to be special!

Ohhh the ring is stunning :) GL with your proposal :)
