My husband and I are having a friendly debate and it would be interesting to hear what other people think. Thanks to the guidance of ps we recently purchased a 25 year anniversary ring as was shown in smtr.

We were thinking of a right hand ring but are having a debate over what to buy. Origionally I wanted a fairly plain scattered diamond etoile style band

We went to a local tiffanys to try it on, but my husband was surprised by how small it looked in comparison to the web picture and didn''t like it at all. While we were there I tried on the Lucida bezel set solitare and liked it very much. I found it very comfortable and would be happy to wear it.

On the same day we were also invited to a demonstration by the Wellendorff artisans at a local jeweller. My husband fell in love with their unique ring construction. They are very unique in that the outer enamel and diamond ring spins freely on an interior ring. If you go to the website you have to select english on the lower left and go to the blueberry in the collection selector. My husband feels that the Lucida is "just another diamond" and the blueberry ring is more unique, a piece of art and superb workmanship.

I think that he has a good point, but I am worried that I may damage the wellendorff ring in everyday wearing and the Lucida may stand up better. I don''t mind having "just another diamond" On a side note, after having AGS ideal 000 diamonds and admiring their beauty every day, will I be just as taken with the Lucida or will only the RB AGS 000 do?

( I hope all the links to the websites go through, I''ll hold my breath, press submit and see what happens!)

While I appreciate the Wellendorf as a piece of art, I''d personally prefer the Lucida ring with your other ring. I would think the Wellendorf ring would not be a good everyday ring. I think the Lucida ring would compliment your other ring while giving you a different stone shape.

I have no idea if the Wellendorff ring is good for everyday wear, but it seems like what really matters is whether or not you like the way it looks.

The Lucida bezel ring looks like it would be very easy to wear and it also seems (to my eyes) interesting and different from most bezel set stones. I would definitely check out the specs for the Lucida because they seem to vary in quality. A while ago I tried on some square cut Lucidas and one was definitely less fiery than the others. I mentioned this to the sales guy, and he didn''t really have any explanation for it. Interestingly, he guessed that it was a smaller carat weight than the one I liked. When he checked the tag, he was embarrassed to find that it was a heavier stone that faced up on the small side.

I love RBs, but I think a well-cut Lucida is just as lively and beautiful in their own way. The Wellendorff is definitely different, but I''m not sure if there''s anything wrong with owning ''just another diamond''.

Thanks for the replies. I tried the lucida rectangular bezel 85 pointer on next to my three stone that has an 86 point center. The lucida looked larger but definately is a different look. It did not seem as sparkly as the rb, but has a very elegant look to it. Right now my husband is saying get the wellendorf and if I really need more sparkle to get a pair of stud earrings. But I like to look at the diamonds so would prefer the lucida to admire. Oh well, the debate continues, thanks for the input!!
