I just wanted to point out that the data you posted (the chart at the end that references 45 school shootings) comes from a group called Everytown. Their data consists of every shooting that has occurred at a school. These shootings are defined as a firearm being discharged in school or on campus grounds. Their numbers include suicides (and there were many - either attempted or committed on school grounds), accidental discharge, armed robbery, gang fights, altercations, and shootings like the one that occurred today.
I don't want to minimize the gun/violence problem in the U.S., but I think that it's important to know how the data is collected and distributed. A shooting on school grounds (or anywhere for that matter) is a terrifying thing no matter what the circumstances. I am saddened by today's shooting. It's a troubled world we live in
