Just and Idea..

Ok,now that I have the ring I am trying to come up with a unique way to propose.

I have done this once before many moons ago(didn''t get to the marriage part though) and did the traditional dinner proposal at a romantic restaurant.

We are heading to Vegas in November and have read all about proposing in front of the Bellagio fountains or in the Eiffel Tower overlooking the strip. But I get the feeling that there are probably several other couples doing that same thing any given night.

Anyway, here is my idea. I know there are caricature artists scattered about the strip. I thought it would be kind of neat to have our portrait done. But, I would have the artist draw me on bended knee proposing. So, when he is done and turns it around for us to look at, I ask her. We would have the moment captured to boot!

I''ve contacted one of the companies that books many of the artists in Vegas and they are willing to help me by putting me in touch with the specific artist ahead of time to plan it.

It sounds very thoughtful and creative!! And you''ll have that portrait to frame and cherish forever, which I''m sure she''ll appreciate... Definitely go for it!

I think that is very sweet. One thing I would clear with the caricature artist is that he/she **NOT** do a mean caricature if you know what I mean. If your GF hates her nose and the artist draws a huge nose on the caricature she will never want to look at it again regardless of the meaning around it...

Some caricature artists are nicer than others in that regard...some only make blown up heads while some make fun of distinguishing features. I would pick the former...

That is why I am researching the artists. The booking company I contacted has samples of each artists work. I hope to be able to have one that does more realistic caricatures rather than the exaggerated style that you describe.

tweak! This is a GREAT idea!

I was going to say something similar to Neatfreak, that the only concern would be that the artist plays nice with the drawing. I got a really mean caricature once (giant bushy eyebrows, pointy nose, chipmunk cheeks mean) and it definitely didn''t put me in a romantic mood.
