Ok, after I stopped hyperventilating, I made my list!

This past month I did the following:

- got invites for wedding and next day brunch
- Had cake tastings and decided on a baker (haven''t booked yet)
- Had food tasting and almost finalized the menu
- Bought the groundwork for the favours
- Bought a dress for rehearsal dinner and a dress for the farewell brunch
- Got wedding day jewelry
- Booked room blocks for guests
- Booked rooms for us and family
- COMPLETED OUR WEDSITE!!!!!
- Having an engagement/wedding party with all of our out of town friends next weekend (most of our friends are from another city, and they were all coming down to visit us next weekend...so we decided to make it our e-party, since we didnt have one. We probably wouldnt have any bachelor/bachlorette)

To Do:
- Send out invitations
- Make-up/hair trial
- Have first meeting with our florist
- Buy veil, shoes (need it for first fitting!!)
- Make favours (almost done)
- Book a baker
- Finalize menu (almost done, just cant decide apps)
- Decide on the wine pairings with the food at the winery
- Make menu cards, place cards, table names
- Seating chart
- Decide on ceremony and reception music
- Write vows

So much to do...so little time. Aaaaahhhhh

I cannot believe that it''s so close! I''ve had to meet with the priest this week to get all my forms sorted out so now everythings done with the church and all the legal stuff are done-phew!

Still have to:
Get D''s wedding band
Organise flowers
Book the car-although it''s booked by word of mouth
Make invites
Make mass booklets
get underwear

Can''t think of anything else at this stage.

Holy crapola!

I still need to:

- Finalize menu
- Figure out where to do the rehearsal dinner and next day breakfast
- write speeches
- finalize small details such as flowers, timing/flow of the day
- get my dress alterations done
- go for a hair and makeup trial
- buy a bracelet to match my pearl necklace and earrings
- finalize men''s tuxes
- get my FI''s wedding band engraved
- book a salon for the day before girly spa day
- find wedding shoes

There is probably a ton more but i can''t think of all of them right now! It''s way overwhelming. I am also in school full time until the Wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My list of *to do* is at least 6 times longer then my *done* list. I have not made any progress since November, except that my dress arrived and I tried it on. This wedding is going to be a disaster.

What I HAVE DONE:

a) booked venue
b) booked photographer
c) wedding dress has arrived
d) bridesmaid dresses picked out
e) my mom picked out invitations
f) booked church

That''s all. I think I am in BIG trouble. And the worst is for the next 4 weeks I have to study for my license, so I don''t think anything will get done until May 8th. Unfortunately, I can''t get motivated to work on this wedding. I''m too down about other stuff in my life to feel excited about getting married.

Ally, since you haven''t sent out invitations, is there any chance of you pushing back the wedding? It''s supposed to be the happiest day of your life, and if you''re not in the right mind frame, then you''ll probably look back with regret.

I know things are really really rough for you. I really hope things go in the upwards direction for you soon. You''re in my thoughts, have been for a while now. I just want to offer support...I''ve been through ridiculously tough times before - I''d think ''well, it cant get any worse'', only for something crappier to follow. But you know, luck has a way of turning around suddenly and I bet your time''s coming soon. *hug*

Okay, so here''s my goals for the next few weeks: secure bridesmaid shoes, pick up FI''s wedding band this weekend, get bands engraved, write vows, schedule rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, finish paying people, reserve rental car for honeymoon, book hotel for wedding night, select ceremony music, select reception must-hear playlist, finalize ceremony & reception details, finalize floral details.

That''s about it at this point!

ally, I agree with Kama. While I didn't experience anything as traumatic as you did, I felt so relieved when I postponed mine (which was the same as yours). We lost a little over $1000, but it's worth it.

**hugs**

Woohoo we got the flowers booked today! So happy that''s done. D is making the invites now so that''s another thing that will hopefully be done soon.

Sorry to hear about all the stress ally. I''m not finished my exams until 16th May so I''m putting off everything until after that date which gives me four weeks till the wedding. I''m in the frame of mind that what I can''t do I''ll just do without on the day. Sending hugs and hope that things get better for you.

Wow, I''m new to this forum and reading your lists is stressing me out again!
9.gif
FI and I decided on a very small wedding (if we thought our families wouldn''t get mad at us, we''d have eloped), and anything we can''t do ourselves we are delegating it to someone else, mostly my FMIL, who has been great with advice and generously offered her jewelery for me to borrow, she is also taking care of the cake, flowers, transport, shower, make-up and hair stylist bookings... I feel bad leaving all this stuff to her, but to echo the previous poster, I just can''t seem to get excited about the planning, don''t get me wrong, I can''t wait to be married, but the planning, not so fun!

We''re at a point where if it''s not essential, it''s being cut out
3.gif
, we had a little disaster with the wedding venue too. Our plan was to have the wedding in one of the rose gardens in downtown Chicago, except, the Taste of Chicago (world''s biggest food event) starts on the same day! The administration office told us, ''well, technically, the space is still available, but there might be thousands of people milling around''.
14.gif

Did I mention that we live in California? Planning a wedding in another city is definitely creating more challenges.

I hope everyone somehow finds the time or someone who can help out!
