Can someone give some tips on how to use an idealscope image? What do white, black and various shades of red mean? What does the idealscope image measure/show?

Thanks

I just read thru the IdealScope tutorial again last night

Here, here, and here

Oops-- didn't see that you were looking at something other than a RB. According to Garry in this thread you should still be able to learn something about your cushion diamond with its IdealScope image.

anyone have thoughts on this stone? Comments are very welcome!

It looks as good as you are likely to find in a cushion.

Is the shape in the center of the stone a bow tie effect? Does this appear to have a strong (noticable) one?

Thanks again

the center of this stone as viewed through the scope is of uniform color, a bowtie would show up with a different color in what would be the bowtie region. i think this looks like a nice stone

So, looking at this picture (the stone is 1.2ct) would this be considered a large culet?

Thanks

Probably Very Large, but not Extremely Large
