Might be a dumb question but I''m rather new here.

Are all Jubilees cut exactly the same? Same depth, table, etc? Does one have to worry about more of a light leakage of one vs. another?

There is no such thing as a dumb question, it's only dumb if you don't ask. GOG sells a lot of jubilee's, and perhaps Rhino can answer any specific questions you may have. Good luck!!

Here is the LINK to the website for the company, The Atlass Group, that cuts and distributes the Jubilee diamond. GOG''s website also has a lot of information on the Jubilee diamonds.

I bought one for my wife''s e-ring and she loves it.

Thanks guys!

Also, ep6585 did you view more than 1 jubilee? If so, what made you decide on the one you went with? I''ve seen them too I love them!

I guess I was just concerned after reading posts about ideal rounds not being so ideal after all with different standards. But then I was also thinking since the Jubilee is a patented cut, surely they are pretty much the same? Maybe I should give GoodOldGold a call or Cary Horowitz

You can e-mail Cary Horowitz or Jon at GOG. Both are pretty good at responding to e-mails.

One of the things that I looked at was the depth%. It can range from the mid 60''s up to the low 70''s. You can often find a smaller carat Jubilee that will have the same are larger spread as a higher carat Jubilee. When I was looking I found my .85 and it had the same spread as a .90 that I was also looking at. Because it was a smaller carat size it was less expensive. Even with the depth% difference they both looked great.

Just wanted to say that I did give Cary Horowitz a call and he ended up explaining the Jubilee''s cut for about 40 mins to me, which was really great because I found out the more technical answer to my question. (which I hope I understood!

So table and depth percentages are not really important in Jubilees. The short answer I came away with is that if the depth is less and the table is larger, you don''t lose the maximum light return because the angles of the diamond and even the crown and pavilion are all in proportion to the slightly deeper or lower in depth percentage. He assured me that EVERY Jubilee is cut to ensure maximum light return. Whew makes me feel alot better!

On the other hand, the boyfriend is picking out the Jubilee today! I''m so excited!! Of course I won''t know which one or the specs of it or when I''m going be officially engaged! Can''t wait

Short answer is no. Look for a good spread for the weight, which usually means one not so deep to for the best value. Good luck
