Jubilant Crown Diamonds?

I was lurking elsewhere and read a post where a woman said the heirloom stone in her e-ring had been re-cut "to the jeweler''s own cut to make it more sparkly." It looks like a higher faceted crown done by one jeweler in VA.

Has anyone ever hear of these? Would more facets on the crown ant an itty bitty table make more scintillation, or might it produce more of an OEC look? Would it just be deep overall?

I don''t think it''ll have an OEC look, because with OECs, the facets are larger due to the smaller table and deeper crown height but the same number of facets. With the facet count increasing (and thus smaller facets) and smaller table, my guess is more pinfire and scintillation.
