Please excuse the long wall of text here, but there is a bit of a background story. If you want to scroll to the bottom and see pics only I don't blame you
So back in May when I first joined PS (or was thinking about joining), I found HoW from some of the threads here. I decided that I wanted to set my original e-ring diamond (.56 H&A H color VS2) into a pendant so I could keep it close to me and not have it just sitting in the jewelry box. I spoke with Sally in detail about the piece, and decided to have her make me a pendant and also some bezel set earrings. I was super excited about her drawings and couldn't wait to start the process. Sadly, my excitement got the best of me and when I was sending my beloved e-ring stone (and the 2 earring stones) I sent it USPS first class, rather than what I should have done (priority int'l with tracking number that can be followed throughout). Sally was wonderful about not blaming me (even though this was clearly my mistake--she was clear about the shipping directions), and waited over a month for the stone to arrive. Sadly it never did, and is almost certainly just lost forever
I was fairly heartbroken, not because of lost money, but because I felt like I lost something that couldnt be replaced with anything new. Again, Sally was very understanding and helpful, and wanted to make it right for me (but also offered a full refund). I eventually decided that I wanted her to make a ring in the iolani style with my electric blue topaz from Doug Menaude. I luckily sent that stone correctly, and Sally got it safely
However, being wonderful and wanting me to be thrilled, Sally offered to make me a pendant as well in a different style than the one we decided for my diamond, and decided to gift me the center stone for it. In order to make the pieces look cohesive, we decided on a pear shaped blue topaz. I definitely couldn't have afforded to buy another stone for the pendant after losing 3 stones, so Sally giving me that was not only a wonderful gesture but allowed me to have a pendant that I love along with a gorgeous ring.
Ok, I promise it's time for pics now after all that text. I just wanted to express my gratitude for Sally's understanding and patience for the last 5 months, and say that I've really never had a vendor go above and beyond for me like that before, so it was a unique and meaningful experience. And after seeing her pics of my finished pieces I certainly plan to send her more of my loose stones when I am ready to set them.
*Edit: the adding photo page isn't working for me right now, but here are links to my photos on imgur
