Um..........

Cape/cloak? Check.

Light silk dressing robe? Check.

Flapper dress? Check.

Red satin dress? Check (although, it's not an evening gown, just a cocktail dress).

The miniskirt outfit? Check.

Black knee high boots? Check.

Jewellery in the hair? Check.

Updos? Check.

I'm beginning to wonder what all this says about me...

I'm having awful trouble thinking up my ultimate JFF article of clothing. But, if pushed, I think it just might be a blonde wig, red lipstick, and the white dress from that Marilyn photo...

A beautiful, upper-crust Victorian day dress. Corseted, of course. With a high neckline that has lace at the top and small buttons at the back. A cameo locket pinned to the front. Lots of petticoats in fine linen and lace. Black lace up boots. The fabric would be a rich emerald green or a coffee and cream alternating stripe.

My curly hair would look smashing with an outfit like that. Mmmmm. I''d put a beautiful pin in it and be set.

Stiletto heels!!!!!

I have a slight neurological problem which affects my balance and makes wearing any kind of heel a problem.
I''m condemmed to go thru life in ballet flat style shoes

Hats. Big, gorgeous hats.

All the time.

Big ditto. I don''t even know if I look good in hats! I''ve always loved seeing them in the old movies and thought how wonderful it would be to have lovely big hats to wear daily, perhaps even with the little white gloves.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned a monacle!

I've worn a monacle. I worked in the optometric field for years and we all took turns with it. It was oddly satisfying.

eta~ Another thing I would love to wear (that's not an article of clothing), red lipstick. I've tried dozens of reds and can't find a color I can actually wear.

I actually own several of the items mentioned:

long black cashmere cloak with hood and heavy black satin lining
black satin opera length gloves
corsets (3)
tall black leather boots

I can combine them and make DH very happy.

Finding good quality hair accessories is near impossible today. It is a shame. There is a huge tradition of hair ornaments (not only tiaras, but combs, clips, etc) but it seems to be lost. I want some nice hairclips, with gold, silver and gemstones!
I''d also love to wear hair clips with sparkies (crystals or whatever) but would feel like an idiot at age 37! lol If I COULD wear them, I''d totally be into the bobby pin ones with the crystals that extend across them.

Hmmm, I sometimes wear a pair of sparkly hair clips (I am 33). I did not realize that I look like an idiot!

Scarlett O''Hara''s green dress from the BBQ seen at the beginning of the movie. I''d never take it off!

I want a leather/rubber body suit kinda like Catwoman. Not that I would ever feel comfotable wearing it, but it would be so fun.

I have worn the hoop skirts and all that before. It was for Halloween. Those hoops are such a pain. You dont fit anywhere. You cant get through doorways. You have to pick them up and tilt them to get through. It was so funny

I agree with everything else everyone said. Dh wants to get black and white family photos done, but wants to do a theme like where the women had the curled hair and wore hats and gloves. I am so excited to buy the stuff for it

And of course when I saw the title of the thread the first thing that came to mind was a tiara.

This is so fun. We all have our daydreams about what we would wear and it is so cute.

I would definitely wear my wedding dress more often.

And other than that I would want to wear big, poofy princess dresses (like Cinderella-type ballgowns). And beautiful cocktail dresses that I never normally wear because I don''t have the occasion to.

hahahaha - Alistra, It really comes down to YOU and your style. Maybe it's because I'm a stay at home mom and when at the kids school, children are wearing the exact same thing. Crystals in their hair and on their clothing. If I didn't have kids, I'd probably feel more daring. Maybe I should get a single crystal bobby pin and wear it when I'm in a simple black sweater and jeans. That way, it'll be a subtle statement rather than over-bling. There is a kiosk in the mall that has some fun ones. (I'm actually kind of shy when it comes to shiny stuff. Like I only wear my wedding set and either my earrings or my pendant. Not even those three at a time unless I'm going somewhere fancy. I'm upgrading one of my diamonds to around .65-.7 and THAT size will make me hide my bling around people. Guess I'm weird.)

Period dresses of all sorts... colonial, georgian, renaissance... whatever! And a tiara, of course!

ETA: I like the hat idea too!

I''d find a mideival dress that belonged to royalty. Yep. That''s my choice.

Oooo that would be so fun! My aunt''s family (her, my uncle, and my 4 cousins) went to one of those fun photography places where they supply you with all that old western style clothing and had sepia toned family pictures shot. They have it hanging in their hallway and I LOVE it! It''d be fun to do with SO and myself but I would definitely want to do it again when we have a family.

Yes, it is all personal style and what you enjoy and feel comfortable with. MC, that is an interesting point about kids wearing crystals. I don''t have any kids, and I do love sparkles! I have a Swarovski crystal license plate holder, and eyeglasses with crystals too! Overall I tend to be a casual person, but I do enjoy a few fun accessories!

I feel so boring I can''t think of anything I''d really like to wear that I don''t already.

I have to say I''m surprised how many people want black thigh high boots, go buy a pair! I have suede ones and they are FABULOUS I get sooo many compliments on them.

I''ve always wanted to wear real stocking. Sleek, soft, delicate stocking. Yes, I''d probably have to hold them up with garters. I think it''d be incredibly sexy to walk around wearing them - even if nobody knew. Then I wouldn''t have to wrestle with putting on the dry scratchy tights up to my waist that you can''t buy without extreme elastic everywhere.
