So, we''ve all been through emotional break-ups, and listening to music sometimes really helps you to fuel your mood, whether it is moping or fueling your insane hatred of your new EX.

What are your favorite break-up songs? Maybe we can put together a soundtrack and market it!

To get us rolling...

When you think of me - Eric Benet

Free Yourself by Fantasia

Caught Out There - kelis

Bust your windows - Jazmine Sullivan

(I linked to videos on youtube, in case anyone wants to hear the songs

)

pretty much any song by Kelly Clarkson, ha!

When I broke up with my ex, this song got me through it, it''s really a beautiful song, doesn''t exactly "fuel the fire" but it taught me that what must be done, must be done, and you have to do what''s best. It''s a sad song, but it''s filled with a ton of great lessons worth learning.

Here''s a link to it on Playlist.com (safe website, I promise).. because it''s not very well known. It''s by Matchbox 20.

As for a fire fueling, I love You Oughta Know!!!

I''m a fan of "Song for the Dumped" by Ben Folds.

This is awesome too.

Imogen Heap - Hide And Seek. For the indie fans, you can appreciate this. It''s a lot of metaphor, but it''s truly beautiful. This song is definitely my idea of a breakup song, but a lot of people like for them to be a lot more straightforward.

Love Imogen Heap -- Good choice!

I heart this John Mayer song - Slow Dancing in a Burning Room. We were at his concert and he said he wrote this song during a break-up...the lyrics are perfect!

To wish impossible things by The Cure. *Disclaimer: This song will make you want to slit your wrists

Oooh I have a bunch too, but that''s by far the most depressing.

"So What" by Pink. (Sorry for not linking to Youtube...)

Tell Her This is a GREAT song, LP. Good pick!

OMG. That Del Amitri guy looks exactly like my crazy ex that ruined my life for a few months. THAT was creepy. Creepycreepycreepy.

Stan, emimem.
It''s ok, Atomic Kitten
Alanis - Hands clean
Anything for you -Gloria estefan
what have i done to deserve this - pet shop boys

Very interesting thead. can''t wait to see what others come up with.

Boy Named Goo - the whole CD

It''s my life, Bathwater, telephone - No Doubt
Don''t Mug Yourself - The Streets
Too Late - The Streets

I could have some of the names wrong, but i love these songs. some are good "screw you!" songs, and others i love to sing at the top of my lungs, which makes me feel better.

LOVE the Continuum album! CAN.NOT.GET.ENOUGH!

I''m going to find another you - John Mayer

Mary J is good too...

Just Fine - Mary J Blige - can''t sulk to this one, get up and DANCE!!!

J. Timb too!

Cry me a River
Trillionaire, Do you know that song "heart of life" by John Mayer? That one got me through some tough times.
When I would think "why, me?" (self pity phase), I''d listen to this song and think in the end, things will be ok.

Honestly, I haven''t had a breakup in a while but I still have those "help me get through the day" songs.

Oh, Annie DeFranco is pretty good. "shameless" - very loud. It lifts my mood.

If we''re talking about the same song, You''re So Vain was actually done by Carly Simon. Great choice, though!

Also, I love the Streets! I''d have to go with "Dry Your Eyes" though.

I was having total brain farts, and i even listened to the songs earlier! and i think Dry your eyes is the song i was thinking of.
actually, it described my ex boyf to a T. and so i would play it for him when he would be late picking me up from school.
