I just learned having a high appraisal isn't always so great!! Jewelers Mutual only covers appraisal value. Obviously I didnt pay near the appraisal price.
Are there any company's that insure for any amount you request under appraisal?
My suggestion is to contact the jeweler that set your stone, tell them how much the stone was, and they know how much the setting was, and ask if they will write you an insurance valuation letter for the amount you paid. That is the easiest way to do it. I refuse to insure with an inflated appraisal when items are bought at retail.
