I'm helping an acquiantance identify a piece of hers. She has a lot of Beverly K pieces and mentioned this one was also Beverly K. But it didn't look like any Beverly K piece I'd seen (not that I'm by any means an expert, but I have been poring over the Beverly K site and haunting their retailers for over 4 years) even though she purchased it at a Beverly K show. Anyway she took a closer look at the piece and the hallmark isn't the same as her other pieces which bear the maker's mark of BKC. This piece which is hallmarked 18K with a maker's mark of DJ .

Who might the designer be, any ideas? It's a pretty piece with millgrain and similar look to Beverly K just... not Beverly K and now she wants to know who it's by.

She bought it in Seatle at a place called Mario's.

Bump.

Calling Mario''s and asking would be the fastest and best route to take.

I suggested that. She seemed to think calling Beverly K was what she should do instead though (not sure why). She''s got a theory that it IS an Abacus piece right around when they started branding for BevK. I dunno. Thought one of appraisers or someone might have some insight. She''s upset by it.

What does her sales paperwork say?

Didn''t ask. Will though. :-)
