Jewelers in Houston for a custom setting for a 1+ RB?

My best friend in Houston knows what a rock person I am, so she asked for recommendations for a jeweler to set her 1.25 carat RB. She wants to custom design the ring - anyone know anybody in the Houston area? I don't really know the area but I've lurked on these boards for years and figured someone here might know.

Does Brian Gavin do custom work? Maybe WhiteFlash?

I believe Whiteflash does custom work. You can set up an appointment to visit them in person. They're at the City Walk shopping center in Sugar Land.

I think Brian Gavin does custom too, but I don't know if they have a brick and mortar showroom that you can visit.

I have been an extremely pleased WF customer many times over, have not purchased from BGD for no other reason other than the luck of the draw--& will never change due to customer satisfaction, service & their diamonds, check out their ACA branded stones--ooo la la!!. Many here have purchased from BGD & have been equally satisfied. She will not go wrong with either one, how lucky for you guys they are local!!!!

Something in the back of my mind made me think that Whiteflash will no longer do custom settings for non whiteflash diamonds. I checked their website and under FAQ it states that custom settings are only for stones purchased through Whiteflash. You can purchase stock settings only for stones supplied by the customer. Double check their policies and then call Brian Gavin if they still want to proceed with a local custom setting.

I have been a customer of both WF and Brian Gavin. Both experiences were seamless in terms of customer service. That being said if you want to go custom, I can't recommend Brian Gavin enough. Brian, if you get to meet him in person, has an amazing ability to read your jewelry personality, and honestly has better design taste than I do.
