Jeweler for emerald cut in LA?

Hey everyone....

This is actually for a friend of mine...she mentioned to me that she''d really like an emerald cut for her engagement ring, so I''ve been emailing her guy. He has asked for some reccomendations for jewelers in LA, but since I''m not an emerald expert (more an OEC kind of girl) I didn''t have too many suggestions.

I''d appreciate any thoughts you have to point him in the right direction - I think he''s looking for B&M, which I don''t totally disagree with.

PS this is for an emerald cut diamond, not an emerald gemstone.

I don't know any jewellers in LA but do have some specs to help him get started.

Colour: H and better
Clarity: VS2 and better
Table: 65% and under to avoid a glassy look and for more fire
Depth: 68% and under to avoid having a smaller diameter diamond
Crown height: 10% and higher for more fire
Girdle: Avoid very thin and under, very thick and over to avoid chipping and hidden weight
Polish: Very Good and better
Symmetry: Very Good and better

23rd Street does have beautiful things (though I haven't seen them in person).

I have seen this ring by Maytal Hannah in person... it's GORGEOUS! I would imagine she could source an EC. Her work is stunning and she's very easy to work with.

I''ve got an excellent jeweler in LA - Oscar''s Design Jewelry. Oscar is a graduate of GIA and real easy to work with. I bought my diamond from him 10 years ago and since he offers trade ups, I''m going to upgrade yet again later this year for my 20th anniversary.
