Hi everyone,

I have been lusting over resetting my OEC since I got married, which is really not that long ago, but I am not a huge fan of the profile of my ring, especially with my wedding band. DH and I may have some extra funds coming our way, and I keep coming back to the JbEG grace and sophie. We don't have enough money for a custom setting, and I work in medicine so I'm looking for a low maintenance solitaire that's relatively easy to clean

Here is the Sophie:

And the Grace:

All of the Sophies I've seen have been set with cushions and not rounds, and I haven't seen a lot of real life photos of the Grace.

Looking to get others thoughts about what would go best with my OEC. It is a 2.49 L OEC, and below is a pic of my wedding band with the ring:

I like both but I vote for the Grace because it is going to be easier to look after (no pave) and I think it is going to look better with your existing band.

I definitely would not do pave on the shank. I am not sure either are going to look a lot different from what you have now when you look down at your hand, though. I think both are beautiful rings, but I'd go with the Sophie with no pave or the Grace only if a brush can access the entire pavilion because you just have to clean them with a brush sometimes. You'd need to ask that about both because an ultrasonic is not always enough to get a stone really clean and you probaby can't put the Grace in an ultrasonic anyway.

Ditto! I drool over the Grace something fierce!

Thanks for the input so far!

DS, i agree top-down the difference will be the same, I was hoping to get a solitaire with a nicer profile that would compliment my wedding band. Also claw prongs, I am dying for those

The plan would be for no pave (the pics on Erica's site for the smaller stone was made with Pave), and I don't own an ultrasonic, usually I clean with a toothbrush and Dawn liquid dish soap

I do love the Grace too but it seems higher maintenance? I should probably ask Grace if there are any other pictures other than her site and Erika Winters' and also ask Erica if she has any Sophies with round stones.

Hi SP&BC!

Thought I would hop on here as I may be the only person on the entire forum to have spent lots of time with both the Sophie and the Grace :))

The Sophie is a beautiful, timeless, and classic solitaire - I can attest to that. I know for a fact that its available to order without the pave on the shank as well, if that is a concern?

The Grace (also a beautiful, timeless, and classic solitaire), contrary to concerns expressed by the other posters, has plenty of open areas for cleaning - its safe to clean using a US and the tried and true baby toothbrush method (and I know so because I clean the ring every time I show it  )

At any rate, I thought I would just put my 2 cents out there. Your stone is beautiful, and should be gorg in any setting you pick!

Buggering off now...

I am in love with the JbEG rings and am searching for the perfect OEC for an engagement ring. Of the two you are considering, I like "Grace" setting the best.

Hi Grace! Thank you so much for your input, you may be hearing from me about the Grace! They are both so so beautiful, and I am not the best at making these kinds of decisions. I still LOVE my stone, as much as the day I got it ;) and would love to dress it up with a fancier solitaire. I fell in love with the Grace first, but I really love the simplicity of the Sophie and the fleur de lis profile. Ahhh, decisions :errrr:
