James Allen vs Whiteflash vs Hearts on fire

Hi,

I am new to pricescope and diamond. Has read about ACA/H&A and some basic info. I am sorry if this has been asked before. I have tried searching the forums before asking them here.

I have a few questions regarding the different sellers like James Allen, Whiteflash and hearts on fire etc.

1. I read that James Allen was a IT technical person where as Whiteflash boss Brian Gavin has a diamond heritage. Do you think that has any effects on the quality of diamonds that they offer?


2. For the diamonds that they sell especially H&A type, do any of James Allen, Whiteflash, Hearts on Fire cut their own diamonds? Or they just buy/pick them from the same "pool" of suppliers?


3. Regarding H&A diamonds , are they always hand cut? Hearts on fire claims their diamonds are hand cut. Where as others only said they are "hand-picked" .

I can not comment on James Allen or HoF, but I know that Brian the Cutter contracts to have his stones cut to his exact specifications and that he rejects many of each production from being in his ACA line, relegating them to his expert selection or worse depending on how far off the mark they are..

While other vendors may buy from his cutter, this I do not know one way or the other, none of them are buying the production that Brian has specifically done for him.

I believe that HoF has a similar arrangement with their cutters.
