James Allen diamond

A quick search of Goodoldgold didn't bring anything up in your budget. High Performance Diamonds (Wink Jones) had a 0.84 that is an SI1 for about $1000 over your budget.

Thanks. I'm works mg with someone at white flash right now. They are great.

I like that last one u sent and put it on hold. They guaranteed that even though I color, will show white.

Most people would consider "I" color pretty white looking at the top of the stone but will show a slight tint when looking at the
side of the stone. As long as you are not color sensitive it should be a lovely stone.

Gosh. Now im torn between the VS2 .88 ideal or the .80 VS2 ideal from white flash. I can't tell which would sparkle more. Is there a discernible difference in size to the eye tween .88 and .80 carats. You guys are the experts. Please weigh in? I need yall opinions.

Can you please post both stones? To know the difference in size, compare the mm measurements.

Can you please post the links? I'd like to compare the Idealscope pictures.

There looks to be a 0.2 mm difference in size, which might be noticeable when the 2 diamonds are side by side, but probably not so if they aren't viewed together.

JDDN posted the links earlier in the thread. I'm a newbie. Don't know how to post the links. Sorry

Well both the 0.80 and the 0.858 stones are ACA diamonds from WF so they will be very comparable in terms of "sparkle."

The 0.80 stone measures 5.91x5.93x3.66

The 0.858 stone measures 6.11x6.12x3.76

You just need to decide if the small amount of extra size is worth going down to an I color. Really well cut I's can face up very white, and like tyty said, if the person is not color sensitive it should be quite lovely.

I believe Whiteflash has a 30 day return policy (check with WF and on their website) if it's too yellow in person.

So long as the price is similar, I'd go for the larger i colour. But you cant go wrong with either!

Thanks for everyone's help. I'm going for the larger I stone. Now I have to decide if I want white or yellow gold.

Is it for you or for your significant other? Reason why I ask is if it's for someone else, what does that person prefer?

I love both white and yellow gold, but the yellow gold may bring out some of the color in the I stone. You'd have to see it to know for sure though.

What setting are you wanting?

Yellow gold could accentuate the warmth of the diamond.

Oh. I thought if your diamond had a yellow tint, u were supposed to go with a Yellow setting.

The diamond is like a mirror; it picks up colours from the environment so the metal surrounding the diamond can influence its apparent colour. Most people stick with white metals but if they want to play up the warmth, they go with yellow or rose gold.

What about platinum?

Platinum and white gold will help it to look whiter. Like Chrono said, yellow gold may accentuate the tint in the I colored stone.

Is this for you or for someone else?

Platinum, white gold and palladium are considered "white" metals.

Someone else.

Just asking in case it was for you, then you could tell us what you prefer. Since it's for someone else then, what do you think she would like? What's her style?

Also, platinum is more expensive than white gold, so it may depend on your budget and what kind of setting you're interested in getting your SO.

I'm having trouble finding a setting. She likes a low setting. 6 prongs. Maybe tiny accent diamond. No pave or halo. I'm having a hard time finding a nice sit site $550 and under to fit these specs.

I really like the second option. Thank you. I'm going with a diamond from white flash, but I'm not too impressed with the settings selection. Right now I'm trying to get them to customize something for me.

Whiteflash can send the diamond to Brian Gavin Diamonds for them to set it if that's something you're interested in. You do not have to have WF do the setting as other vendors will set loose stones.

You can also send WF the image as inspiration if you are going the custom route. If you go custom ask what WF's return policy is in the event your SO doesn't like the setting.

Thank you for all the help.
