There will be a little leakage when the stone is dirty just inside the table. It is the type of stone i buy and recut a tiny bit off the pavilion - about 3-4 points.

It is very hard to find 2.5ct stones, so it could well be a keeper, knowing that you have that safe .07cts to play with if you ever need to or you find that dullness worries you.

Not sure, but JA might even manage the recut for you - they could have it done much cheaper.

when i do that, I usually find I do not need to recertify the stone as it is a ''value adding'' story.

The SI1 is in a nice place - be sure to tell the setter to put the mark near a prong and you will not see it for the reflection off the prong (too far in to cover it). the cloud will not be a problem.
