Hello! Would you choose JamesAllen or Whiteflash for a good quality diamond (ideal/excellent cut, over 1ct)?

I have bought a few diamonds from WhiteFlash and would highly recommend them. Their ACA stones are cut with hearts and arrows precision. My daughter actually has one of their Premium Select stones that was ideal in everything except excellent in polish, and it allowed her husband to get a larger stone that way. They also have an excellent trade-in policy should you ever decide to upgrade.

I can recommend Whiteflash too. I have bought from them 3 times and had a custom made setting.

I have purchased twice from Whiteflash and zero times from James Allen, but have communicated with a rep from JA when I was considering a pear for an upgrade. I had good customer service experiences with both companies. I would suggest a few things before you decide on a vendor: what setting do you love? Which vendor has that setting? (Easier to get stone and setting from same place.) How likely are you to want to upgrade in the future? (Read up on upgrade policies and compare; they can vary widely.) And, what kind of stones are you considering (round brilliants or fancy shape)? Which vendors have stones in your price range?

I have bought from Whiteflash 4 times, including a custom ring. Their customer service is top notch, and their diamonds are stunning. The quality of their jewelry is great. I have never purchased from James Allen so I can't comment on them.

Are you looking at rounds or princess cut? They are easier to buy from Whiteflash (also a little more expensive but worth it to most).

If you are looking at fancy shapes, I would probably look towards JA.

I have purchased from both and have a slight preference for Whiteflash's upgrade policy vs. James Allen, but otherwise, you can get good stones at good prices at either. Not to throw another vendor in the mix (since you didn't ask), but you can also look at Brian Gavin, who started Whiteflash but is no longer associated with them.

Are you looking for an RB?

Thanks a lot linesplice, Brian Gavin looks good too. Anyone else had experience with them?

Yeah, JA is a bit cheaper than WF for diamonds of similar grade, I wonder if the price difference reflects quality.

As for setting, I'm not that picky, so all three companies have the setting I like.

p.s. sorry, what's RB? A company?

RB = round brilliant cut diamond

If you want to know more about any vendor, just use the search box in the upper right corner of the page and type in any vendor name. You'll get a lot of reviews and 'Show Me the Bling' threads showing the outcomes.

What are you looking for, and what's your price range? We can suggest some options...

different business model.

JA has a wide selection but does not have all of the stones/etc in house, and you would have to request additional images.

WF has their premium select/expert selection/ACA diamonds in-house, and has already provided all of the images. Also, ACA are H&A diamonds. Upgrade policy is also different.
