I am so incredibly excited! I''ve been reading this forum for a few months now and trying to learn some things about diamonds. I learned that Whiteflash is awesome and has great policies, so I decided to buy from them. Then it was a matter of wading through stones to find the one that''s numbers appealed to me most within my budget. So... she is on her way to Whiteflash - should arrive on Monday to be checked out by the eagle-eyed folks there before being sent to me. So here are the stats.

Per GIA:
Shape: Round
Carat: 1.59
Color: J (faces up white per people who had stone)
Clarity: SI1 (eye clean per same people)
Depth: 61.3%
Table: 57%
Girdle: Thin to Medium, faceted
Culet: None
Polish: VG
Symm: VG
Fluor: None
Meas: 7.49-7.55 x 4.61

Then there''s an "AGS" tiny report:
AGS grade 1
Round
Weight: 1.593
Depth: 61.2%
Table: 56.7%
Crown: 33.5 deg / 14.4%
Pavil: 40.9 deg / 43.2%
Culet: .5%
Girdle: 1.6% (thin-sl thick)

So whatcha think? Should be getting some pics and stuff on Monday.

Oh ya - HCA comes out to 1.0. I think it''s a deal for $7,550 (assuming faces white and eye clean).

looks like a nice stone! congrats

I know literally nothing abour rounds, but I just wanted to say congrats on finding a stone, and that you can not do better than the people at Whiteflash

Can''t wait to hear what WF says and see some pics!

I''ll keep my fingers crossed that they say it''s a keeper.

congrats on your purchase...can''t wait to see pictures.

The specs look nice on that stone.

Just out of curiousity...did you consider this in-house Expert Selection stone?

http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-2045485.htm

It's a 1.51 J SI1 ES for $7427 (before PS discount)...but the diameter is 7.48mm whereas the one you have is 7.52mm. So basically they look the same in terms of diameter..and this stone is cheaper and it's an ES..meaning it most likely is cherry, it has great numbers (I prefer the smaller depth), and will most likely have those yummy arrows.

Just a thought. I would always look at in-house stones before going virtual..if you have not I would also consider this stone with the one they are calling in, or at least have them run the IS image and the stone image! Just numbers don't always tell the whole story!

Haha I didn''t even notice that Mrs. S!! Great eye..and YES second that blue fluor in a J stone would be absolutely fab.

No wonder you didn''t see it Mara, it says no fluorescence on the WF website for that stone. It is only on the certificate.

From what I have read, lower colours do better with some fluorescence, so it might really be a great find!

Ooh, I love the one Mara posted. I agree about the depth. I prefer the depth on the Expert Selection. You should definitely check it out, and also, the fluorescence sounds great. If you do check it out, ask WF if it's eye-clean.

Aww, man! That one never popped up before! It must be brand new! I''ll definitely email Denise and get them to compare the two and I''ll just get whichever one is better. Thanks for finding that one! Either way, I expect a beaut!

I've put in a note to get the FL comment corrected. Thanks for spotting this ladies.
(I guess I should say thanks for "going with the fluo?"

It is indeed a new arrival, which is why there is no ideal-scope or mag photo up. We'll have someone check its level of eye-clean for you on Monday Recran.

Whoa... just got the pictures and idealscopes for the two diamonds - the one I found and the one Mara pointed out (thanks!!! it just became available on Friday; that''s why I didn''t see it before.) This is another testimony as to why we should always just trust WhiteFlash.

What I found:

Score another one for Whiteflash!!! I''m delighted that this stone will come to live with me shortly.

That WF expert selection was a great choice - it looks so nice! Are you having it set in the halo setting? Were you able to decide between the bezel or prong halos?

Ohh excellent!

I am very envious....

Keep us posted!

Oooh I knew that ES would be a winner!! Those virtual stones can be great sometimes but sometimes I think the arrow and IS images can be a little iffy even if the numbers look potentially good.

Those ES images are yummy and hey the one you chose was no slouch either...for a virtual stone it looks quite nice! the ES one was just a notch up!

Actually, I decided that a 1.5 carat stone is big enough to stand on its own after all. I love the halo settings, but I would rather people appreciate my stellar rock more so than the setting. So... I''m going to just get a 6-prong Tiffany setting for now. It''s funny that the plain setting actually makes this size diamond look bigger than the halo setting. I think that''s weird, but true.

Thanks for all the help! I''ll be sure to post pics once I get her home and set.
