I recently received the emerald and ruby target settings from Ivy and Rose. I know others have posted about the ruby and sapphire settings before, but I haven’t seen the emerald on here. Both are for a ~7mm center (the “medium size” setting) and are shown with a 7mm Chris CZ sitting in the setting.

I was split between the emerald and ruby, so I ordered both to try out. Customer service was great. They shipped out the settings the same day, and there are 30 day returns. As others have said, it really is a lovely setting. The pictures on their website and Etsy are very true to color, IMO. The ruby has wonderful sparkle in natural light. The emerald has a glow or shimmer.

Here are videos to see them in action:

I have been wanting a target ring for a long time. In spite of the setting being beautiful, I’m not quite 100% sure how I feel about it on my own hand. I think I would go with the emerald, but I need to try it over a couple of days to see what I think.

thanks for posting the videos too! I expected the ruby one to back out a bit. The emerald one performs well too. I have been thinking about putting a grey spinel in one of the ruby target settings

That would be striking! I was surprised at just how sparkly the rubies are. So pretty. Perhaps it isn’t a popular preference, but I tend to like a bit of a pinker ruby, which is probably why I’m leaning toward the emerald. The rubies are a lovely, saturated red, though.

I like the emerald on you. Very pretty.

I had a sapphire target setting from them. Bright stones and vibrant, but I didn't like how light weight it was. I prefer a more substantial feeling setting, but the comprise with these is the price!

Thank you! I agree on both accounts. It would be nice if it were a tad heftier, but the price point is really excellent. I think it’s definitely the best budget-friendly option out there.

You Emeralds! Although both are beautiful.
I recently learned, the hard way, that you can't steam emeralds, apparently, they shouldn't go in an ultrasound either. I couldn't figure out why my halo stones were so light and dull looking. It seems the heat removes the oil, which in my older emeralds was an issue since they were treated in the 20s or 30s with God knows what. Likely not as much of an issue now but so you know.
