I spent all weekend drooling over colored stones. I love every color out there so I couldn't pinpoint a type of stone I really wanted, but I think I know what will help me curb the colored stone appetite (for now). I want a larger (3+ ct) cushion cut that's clear and sparkly. I know there has to be some out there like that that won't cost me an arm and a leg (meaning below the $500 mark). The only color I don't want is purple (since I have a very pretty purple ring already). So . . . has anyone seen anything like that around? Lottsalinks would be great since this had turned into my favorite at home pass-time.

There are a lot of different color, cut and clarity combinations that can fulfill that request. You should have no problem finding something you love for that price.

Or if you're feeling daring, check out ebay - there are many nice size stones for your budget. Check out tourmalines, for example

Good luck :wavey:

Ohhhhh, those are pretty!!! Weeee!

I tried Ebay over the weekend and failed miserable. :-D I have a hard time spotting the bad deals, ya know?

I love this aqua at Litnon. 4.87 carats, $225. Lighter than ideal but I love the cut and the sparkle.

By clear and sparkly, do you mean eye clean and lively? What about strength and depth of colour (rich or pale in saturation or pop)? I presume this will be an occasional wear ring? If you are pretty relaxed about your requirements, including treatment, the gem market is your oyster and you should be able to find what you like within budget.

I do mean eye clean and lively. Yeah, it would be a RHR that I wouldn't wear all of the time. I wouldn't need huge depth of color but a really interesting color would be great (that's so vague isn't it?)
