Hi all! My bf and I finally decided to put a diamond on hold from GOG. We just wanted to know what everyone thinks before we make the final purchase.......We spoke to Charles today, and he said that he guarantees that the stone IS eyeclean. So we just wanted to make sure that this is a good buy and the best thing that is available for our budget. We don''t want to have to make any returns so.........What does everyone think?????

Here''s the link!

I just wanted to say congrats. I''m so excited for you. Make sure you post pictures when it arrives.

Awww thank you ALL for the sweet comments! I''m so happy that we found something! I will def post pics as soon as I get it in!!

MissGotRocks- I have found a setting that I really like here at a local jeweler, there are two tapered baguettes around each side of the center, and 3 sided pave with a VERY delicate milgrain, and diamonds going up the prongs and around the basket. I really love it, I have been trying to find it online, but i can''t find it anywhere!

I actually just found out the price....we had originally got quoted with $2700 and no more than $2900 (its also 18K WG) but I just recieved a phone call from my BF and he said it costs $3700!?!?

That seems VERY expensive especially for WG....I would think that price for platinum, but not WG. Sooo.....Now I don''t know what to do. I am thinking about going custom now bc I want my WB to it flush, and I would have to have a band custom made to sit flush with this design. I guess I am on a hunt now for a setting! I wish the one I want didn''t cost so much

Am I being unreasonable?

Ohh I am also in the process of finding out who the designer is so I can look online.

Please let me know it any of you have found something like this before....Thanks!

Amanda

I don''t know if it''s a recent increase or what, but I just received two quotes this week in 18kt. white gold with some pave and trap side stones from two different vendors, that varied between $7,900 and $10,600.

$3,700 is starting to sound a lot better now isn''t it?

Beautiful stone! As for the setting, that price does sound expensive. I would certainly consider going custom. Whiteflash does good custom work for a reasonable price. There''s also Leon Mege, Mark Morrell, or Maytal Hannah, but they tend to run a lot more. WF does have a 3-sided pave ring for a reasonable price. You would just have to customize it to add baguettes. Here are some other basic designs that they could modify to create your custom ring:
The Imperial
Rounded pave ring - looks like it has a nice matching wedding band.

That''s a gorgeous stone!! Nice size too!!
