Delivered by Fedex this morning at 9.35am... after delays while they claimed they didn't have the necessary paperwork. Anyway, all's well... and here she is...

I only managed a few shots on the camera phone, as BF's SLR was out of battery!
BF wasn't home, but gave me strict instructions to only look at it and then put it away, until he pops the question.
He told me not to try it on, but I figured I had to... to see if it fit...

AVC is a 1.28ct J SI1. It faces up white!
Setting is BGD Classic Truth Sleek Micro Pave - 16 round diamonds in the pave. Size 4.25.

Sorry about the bad photo quality - it was dark in the study.
Unpacking...

The ring

Sneaky hand shot... hope BF doesn't see this! I'm not sure why it looks like it is cutting into my finger...seems to fit perfectly.

I promise more photos when the engagement becomes official - although who know when that might be!

It's a beauty!!! Congratulations!

Oh...I like this. It's gorgeous. I hope you don't have to wait too long to wear it!

Gorgeous! Any more pics??? :naughty:

=) mmmm its dreamy!

more pic, more pics!!!!

In my best Aussie accent "good on ya mate!"

No more pics at this stage as I'm banned from wearing it!!
I made a big deal awhile ago about BF needing to propose properly (I have been reading all the proposal stories on PS), so he has now turned around and told me I can wait until the proposal before I get to wear it.

I forgot to say - thanks for Lesley and Jamie at BGD - they were so helpful and prompt in their replies. And Sarah from GOG was very patient with my constant emails and questions too. I can see why they are both highly recommended on PS. They made a novice feeling comfortable about making such a large purchase sight unseen (apart from video) from overseas.

I  it! :appl:

Sugars you have made my day!!! As a fellow Aussie i have got my eye on a stone from GOG and it is great to hear you are happy with your beautiful ring and the service you recieved. Its amazing how expensive diamonds are here in australia and good luck even getting an AVC here!! Can i ask.... how much $$ do you think youve saved buying it online instead of locally and how much $$ did you have to pay for tax and freight??

I LOVE IT

Beautiful ring! Hope you get to wear it so soon!

Congrats! it is beautiful!! :appl: :appl:

Supers, its beautiful  Cant wait for the proper hand shots :naughty:

I LOVE IT

Thanks Vanilla!

Yeah, diamonds are not good value at all here. And AVCs - well, no chance of getting that here.

I did go to one of the better jewellers in Melbourne - Holloway - and while his diamonds were beautiful, they were $$$. I think a cushion diamond from there would have cost the same as my whole ring. That cushion was probably only a 0.75 whereas mine is 1.28ct. And setting in Melbourne would have been another $2000. So, conservative estimate, say $2000 saving - but I'm sure the price jump after the 1ct mark would have been significant

In GST and freight, I paid about $800 - but not duty thankfully.

I do also need to thank Arjunajane and CushionNovice - they are Aussies who've also bought AVCs, so they were the inspiration and I knew I'd be in safe hands with GOG.

Fantastic saving!! I went into a chain store today (i would NEVER buy an Ering from there) and was quoted $4585 for a .30ctw pave setting and... wait for it .....$12,555 for the .75ct F VS2 "Hearts on fire" centre stone, so over $17k for the whole ring. What a rip off!!!! NOw to convince FF to buy online.... hmmmm. :appl:

Wow, Supers! She's a beauty!

It must've taken super-human strength to put her back in the box?!

Hope your proposal comes soon!
