I love the Tiff replica. Its so pretty and classic. Thats what I voted for

Mary Alaina has that setting. Her diamond is slightly smaller than yours but you will see what its like on her hand. I think the hand shots are page 2 of this thread

She also shows it with a few different wedding bands too. Definitely worth a look

I voted for the original fine line but...If you''re going to get a plain solitaire setting, can you afford to go with Leon? That would be my 1st choice. Do his very basic, plat single claw prong setting. It would be amazing and it''s usually between $1200-1500. for that setting so it''s not crazy expensive.

totally ditto this. If Leon could be a option, I''d do his classic setting in a heartbeat. diamondseeker just had her stone reset into that setting and it is AMAZING!!!

Personally I''m not a fan of tiffany style settings. I like the fineline because it is so much sleeker with more flowy lines. Double prongs on it would be lovely. However, if you have about 2k you should *definitely* spring for a handmade leon mege setting instead!!! He is the master: artofplatinum.com

Ditto!
I''m partial to six prong settings. Whiteflash''s is beautiful!

...though, if you were able to swing a Leon, I''d vote for that--he could set your 2.6 beautifully.

thanks for your input everyone. keep them coming!!

looks like the fine line with double claw prongs is winning by a margin. well, that... and leon! i really did consider having leon set my stone. i got a quote from him for his classic solitaire setting (i think it was 1700), which was very reasonable. however, i trust whiteflash to get the setting exactly how i want it, and i'm a control freak

, so i want to see the progress along the way

.also, if i ever upgrade in the future, his setting can't be reused, right?

i will decide soon, really!!!

Oh! and does anyone have a side view of the harry winston solitaire setting? i cannot find a picture anywhere!

the fineline looks gorgeous in that picture - so that''s the one i voted for! if it''s within budget, i would also consider having leon mege make you a solitaire, either like LE''s or Harriet''s. when i was considering going that route, he quoted me $1700 for his classic solitaire setting. that was a little over a month ago.

Hi CG!

I def. agree with the others re: Leon. I love his solitaire settings.....If you do decide to go with WF, I would choose the orig. fine line....its just more delicate than the Tiff replica imho.....Good luck!

Thanks to MrsS for already mentioning this, but I''d recommend the Leon Mege classic setting for that style setting. I like the Legato setting better as far as the WF solitaires go or the classic Tiffany.

eeeeeeeeee you guys! now i am really jonesing for a leon!!!

can he make his settings sit flush with a wedding band? i know that typically he does not like his rings worn with a wedding band, but it''s important that i have one (and i''m thinking shared prong too)

i was wondering also, if i get my setting from whiteflash and decide to change the stone later, what will they do with the setting? if i get a leon, how do i change that?? i know i''m thinking waaay into the future, but if i ever change anything, it''ll only be the stone and not the setting. which is the easier way to go?

my whiteflash rep also mentioned that their settings are hand-made...i thought they were casted?

on a sidenote, i went to look at settings at a local store yesterday, and they showed me a few stones as well. the rep starting bashing my stone and told me that AGS is the worst lab and that he would only go for GIA. he kept giving me horror stories about how he once saw a 3 carat stone that was graded a G by AGS but was 4 colors off and "REALLY" yellow. he also told me i should go for ''very good'' cut at most and get the biggest stone. yeah, right.
