First the question: Is it wrong to show people that do not know your fiancee the eRing before she sees it? What do you ladies think about that?

As for the review of GOG, I was very satisfied with my experience/purchase and the ring looks amazing. They worked with me on some difficult circumstates to get the ring 1000''s of miles away, and did so without a hitch. The I/SI2 stone was as promised, looks eye clean, and look VERY white (was pretty surprised). When my package arrived, it included the original GIA cert, 2 copies of my appraisal, a Triplet Loupe (and I just bought one off eBay!), an Ideal Scope, and a lighted display box. It was in 4 layers of DHL packaging, which I''m sure is for insurance purposes, but it was nice to know it would have taken a very determined thief to get at my purchase.

Overall, I would highly recommend an online retailer... especially the ones on these forums. GOG is just a little local shop in Long Island, but they are the best "B&M" I have delt with so far.

Once I get the ring into the final setting, I''ll come back and leave some pictures.

Sounds great! Can''t wait to see the pictures, of course!!

Hmmm, I wouldn''t have been very happy knowing that everyone and his brother had seen my ring before he gave it to me. That''s what PS is for...you can post it on here and everyone can "virtually" share your joy without getting their grubby little paws all over your brand-spankin'' new ring! (Even if the setting is temporary!) Just my opinion, though...your fiancee-to-be may not give a rat''s behind.

Congrats Professor, so happy you love it. Looking forward to pics once it''s set.

Oh, yes! It is totally fine to show it to US!!! Just don''t show it to her friends or family before she gets it! She''d want to show it off to them herself!

I am SO glad you ended up with a great stone! We are excited for you and are anxiously awaiting your pictures!!!

I wouldn''t show it to anyone in real life, before she sees it. BUT it''s fine to show it to us!

Can''t wait! I missed the decision posts... what diamond did you get and which setting?

Congrats on your purchase. Can''t wait to see it. I wouldn''t have minded if my DH showed the online community that helped him pick the ring, but I wouldn''t want him to be showing all my friends or his friends before I get it.

I believe he was the one with the young gf who said she wanted a 2 ct. in an antique setting...she thought! But she really did not know what she wanted until he questioned her further.

What carat weight is the I SI2 stone...I can't remember?

Correct... and the Ideal Cut 1.06Ct is sitting in a temporary 6 prong tiffany setting at this time. I hope that she sees how nice a smaller setting makes the size look bigger, so maybe we''ll end up with a Tacori ering/wedding band set... we''ll see.

That is a terrific choice! I am so glad you ended up with a stone of that quality! And at GOG, you can always work toward that 2 ct. later!

Thanks for the kind words Professor. It was a pleasure to be of service to you and glad to hear everything went smooth. If we can ever be of further help or assistance in any way please don''t hesitate to let us know. Please keep us posted on your progress with the proposal.

Warm regards,
Jonathan
