We're rounding to the 5 year anni and I am hoping we can pick me up a sparkly pair of round diamond studs! I am needing some direction and guidance on whether to buy preset or go custom, and who the current favored vendors are. Would consider buying preloved or OMC/OEC, but want to make sure I get a beautiful pair that I love for a lifetime!

Budget
I don't have a budget - meaning what I want will dictate parameters. LOL.

Wearability and size
These will likely be worn on a pretty daily basis so need to be reasonable in size (I know, I know, this is ultra subjective...) I have tiny ears so my initial thought was .4 carats each. Also wondering 3 vs 4 prongs...thoughts?

Cut/Clarity/Color
What is the going standard for what I can get away with that look awesome but are in reasonable price range?

Appreciate any guidance that can be offered!

Studs are a great anniversary gift! I have bought mine from WhiteFlash multiple times (upgrades), and it is well worth having ideal cut stones that can be upgraded for any amount over the original stones. I have H color studs but have friends with I color and they look absolutely great since they are so well cut! The good thing about studs is that you generally only can see the top of the stone, and I and even J color can look white on the ears.

Here is a great pair of I VS2.

Or, if you prefer higher color and a drop to SI1 clarity, these are great, too:

If you are interested in either pair, I'd recommend putting them on hold so they don't get sold to a lurker.

If you think you might upgrade later, I'd go with the lowest price settings which are three or four prongs. I just don't like an odd number of prongs so I have always done 4 prongs. They ordered low 4 prong platinum basket settings for me, but I think if I were getting settings other than that, I'd choose the 6 prong martini's that they make in house. Bezels would be pretty on stones that size as well.
