Mine is.

Opps, I should have written SO's; So maybe mine is lower.

So in your relationship who has the higher IQ?

Totally.

But its ok because he can cook

My husband has his BS in Physics. What do you think?

mine is higher by probably 10 points... he''s smarter though :) I''m just quicker and grasp more obscure things better than he does - he can do more with what he has than I can.

My husband is definitely the smarter one in our relationship.
I''ve always been attracted to unusually intelligent people.

I have no idea what my IQ is and I''m equally as clueless about DH''s....He''s more logical than I am and I''m more creative than he is...

My husband has his dual in Physics and Electrical Engineering and his Masters in technology management (or something like that) and I still know without a doubt that mine is higher lol

Probably. I haven't asked what hers is--and don't plan to

She definitely has the edge in keeping her mental information organized, though. My thoughts can end up being too random to actually be useful.

Hmm, good question! We should both try taking the same IQ test and see what we get. I would expect we're both very close, though I got a little more dose of the common sense sometimes

ETA: We both have the same degree from the same school, so I guess it would make sense if we have similar IQs. I'm curious to try, but he's so darn competitive that it might not end well

Mine is going back to get his Masters in EE. (fun, fun!) When he was a kid, his dad had him take an IQ test and his score was pretty high up there.

I have no idea what my IQ is. Probably 80. I have to use a calculator for basic division.

I think you underestimate yourself, MC.

I don't know since I never asked what his is (I only know mine because they had us tested in like 3rd grade).

But he and I are pretty balanced in terms of IQ. He has me beat in logical and mathematical thinking, but I have the advantage in literary and compositional IQ. He's a better musician, but I'm the better artist and spatial thinker. We're very complimentary. If the two of us weren't such slackers, we'd probably be a power couple, haha.

...Although neither of us can cook

I wonder what the average IQ or SAT score for PSers would be...

I think she does too! I know what mine is - I had the full multi-week testing done when I was 13. I''m way too intelligent to be as airheaded and silly as I am.

BTW MC - my husband always feels like he copped out "just" getting a business technology degree for his masters (I think that''s what it is - it has technology and business or something in it) instead of his masters in EE because it was so much easier than the EE masters would have been hehehe

I know a lot of very smart engineers and most of them are also bad at mental math (despite having to take many classes where calculators weren''t allowed). So don''t sell yourself short!

Hmm... well I have a higher testable intelligence... (haven''t taken an IQ test but as far as ACT, SAT, etc) but when it comes to grasping obscure concepts he blows me out of the water. We think and process information VERY differently.

His is definitely higher, I''m a real scatterbrain 23/7. I usually have 1 hour where I say something smart if I''m lucky

I made Mensa in the 1970's (but only by one point)

I''d guess so. He''s a freak of nature but I love him for it.

He says mine is higher. I have no need to know. But will say our kids IQ''s are way higher than our''s combined, LOL!!!!

My husband''s is higher.

Mine is a lot higher (> 40-point difference, and he tests well above average), but he''s every bit as smart (otherwise I would not be marrying him!). It just happens that I''m very very good at taking tests and he has a peculiar difficulty with them. Partly because of this experience, I don''t credit IQ as measuring much beyond how good you are at taking tests; it certainly doesn''t gauge actual intelligence.

Yeah, me too pp. I made Mensa in the ''70s by four points, but that''s OK because we both got in

and considering that the average IQ for an adult in this country is 100, that''s not all that shabby to get in with any score that qualifies. In is in! I''d rather be on this side of the fence.

Yes, definitely. Mine is higher than my hubby''s, but he could put a second story on your house in no time flat.
Our individual strengths compliment the other and create a strong twosome.

I have no idea what our IQ''s are but I have no doubt that DH''s is higher. That''s ok, he''s the brains and I''m the beauty in the relationship

No idea.

The latest test we have in common is the GRE. He aced the math and nearly aced the verbal. I aced the math and tanked in verbal. I spell better and have better grammar than he does, though he'll argue this every once in a blue moon
2.gif
. We're both engineers, and both have essentially illegible handwriting. He always beats me in boggle - every. single. time, but I can't get enough of it!

We're both incredibly competitive, even with each other - it's a very good thing we're in completely different fields!

YES!! of course

My IQ (from being tested during childhood) was significantly higher, but having tested as an adult, only slightly higher.

We get dumber as we age. Apparently we lose that edge we have during childhood.

DH is one of the smartest people I know. Although he never took higher math classes, he uses higher math skills every day and doesn''t even realize it. And he''s got common sense out the wazoo. It took me a little longer to develop that!

I don''t know; I don''t think he''s ever taken an IQ test. I do know that my SATs were much higher. He doesn''t test well at all. He tends to overthink the questions.

On the other hand, he has a history of getting very difficult, high stress scientific jobs (like nanotechnology research) with very little advance knowledge and wowing everyone with his skill, intelligence, and adaptability. He really amazes me.

No.. his is higher. He is way too smart....

When we first started dating he was SUCH AN ASS about things I didn''t know. He would say, "Seriously? You don''t know what XX means?" or "You don''t know the meaning of the XXXXX?"

I had several conversations stating that HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO LEARN IT if he was rude... I am not shy about admitting things I don''t know. I think humans are always learning and Im not ashamed about that. He teaches me stuff all of the time and doesn''t make fun of me for it anymore. It''s just how he grew up.. so I don''t hold it against him.

I don''t think either one of us has a clue what our IQs are. DH is definitely more analytical and stronger in mathmathics and logic. He can figure things out very quickly in his head than I can. I''m much more creative/artistic, though I am still strong in math and sciences. If I HAD to make a guess, I''d say DH''s is higher, though it kiills me to admit that. :)
