I am wondering wjere to buy my diamond from I am looking at a
1.05 caret
G color
Vs2 clarity
Blue Nile signature ideal cut
Ex polish
Ex symitry
But I noticed some other posts say that blue Nile is not.as good becuse thay don't have the ideal scope of the hearts and arrows or any real pictures of the diamond its self. Also is it true that blue Nile doesn't have the signature ideal diamonds thay get them drop shipped so is white flash or another comany a better idea.also the setting I wasn't is from blue Nile so who will set it if I buy my diamond from somewhere else . Also the setting I'm looking at is 3/4 caret total weight 3 prong set round diamonds progressively bigger to center and platinum thay won't 3600 is it worth it? Thank you everyone

From my minimum time researching diamonds, I would rather purchase from Whiteflash, Brian Gavin or other companies who offer similar premium cuts. From what I researched, others have said Bluenile Signature Diamonds are simply "in-house" diamonds. It doesn't necessarily mean they are in the same line of premium cut as WF and others. Personally, I have seen diamonds in stores with GIA XXX being out-shined by GIA EX/VG/VG. Whiteflash and others may be priced higher by a few bills, but I rather spend that several hundred more for AGS certification with ideal/ASET imaging. Even with the extra certifications that come with WF, I am STILL having a hard time choosing a diamond. I can't imagine purchasing from Bluenile, it would be lie choosing a diamond blind.

However, it really depends on you and your special person. Some guys/gals just want a diamond and get it over with. If you put great importance on buying the best diamond for your money, I would choose WF over Bluenile.

But this is just my amateur opinion. If an expert could chime that would be great.

I'd feel more comfortable buying from WF because they do provide ideal scope images and I have purchased from them before with great success. I also have purchased from BN, but only smaller, less expensive pieces that are more fun and not diamonds. BN does have great customer service and excellent return policy, so I wouldn't cross them off my list, but still, they wouldn't be at the top.

I have done business with both.

For a large or sentimental purchase, I'd go with Whiteflash. It has a very knowledgeable staff and can provide you with images, opinions, etc. Also, their settings are higher quality.

Blue Nile has excellent customer service and an amazing return policy. But it provides no access to the gemologists. I believe their signature line is chosen strictly by the numbers and not by inspection. I would not pay the premium for the signature line. Instead, I would choose a non-signature with a promising HCA score, have it shipped, and inspect it myself with an Idealscope. I think you can find a great diamond this way, but it's a lot of legwork.

All in all, I'd go with Whiteflash simply for the fact that it has all the information posted and their settings are better.

I also prefer WhiteFlash of those two. They have their own brand of stones cut to ideal proportions. You can't go wrong, plus they have an easy upgrade policy if you change your mind about the color or size later.

As DS said, Whiteflash has a good upgrade policy: Trade up for a diamond of equal or greater value. With Blue Nile, a trade up would need to be cost 100% more than what was paid for the original diamond.
