This is besides the point at this time, but there is no way in h*ll I would adopt a dog sight unseen and have it shipped to me, no matter what someone says and what their credentials are.
a good breeder cares about their lines (blood lines). If I was moving somewhere that was not pet friendly, my breeder would take my dog back, because she doesn''t want ANY of her dogs to end up in kennels or pounds or worse. I had to sign a contract to spay her before she turned one, so that dogs that are not ''finished'' are not being bred. I had to sign a contract, I had to interview, I had to let her know what literature I had read on dog training, etc. I have a 5 year health guarantee, so if my dog is not healthy and have a genetic defect within 5 years, I am entitled to a free puppy. I also have friend in my breeder. We chat whenever I have a concern, and we visit when we are in each other''s towns, we are FB friends, etc!
Just a note: that "steel gray" colour you don''t like is the natural adult coat colouring for Yorkies. They start out tan and black and the black goes silver.
Go for a normal sized Yorkie. Those bred to be tiny have too many health issues and present too many challenges. I''m so glad our adopted Chihuahua is regular size. She is actually much prettier than 99% of the tinies we have seen out and about. They have a tendency to put on weight and look like stuffed sausages.
My next dog will be a Yorkie. Everyone in DH''s family has one but us.
