Hello all! I''m new to this site but I''m seeking advice. I''m currently out of state with my boyfriend as he works on the road. I had taken my right hand ring to get it sized at a local jeweler and when I picked it up today decided to browse their selection of e-rings. They had a 1.27 carat round solitaire in a tiffany style setting. While i didn''t like the setting I did like the size of the diamond. I asked the girl if I could loupe it and saw a pretty big inclusion. I then viewed it from the side and it was eye visible....I really didn''t want an eye visible inclusion but was thinking since it was on the side no one would really notice and it''s not like I would point it out. Now here''s my question. When I asked what color it was she didn''t know so she got the jeweler. He held it up and and quickly told me it was a H and SI1 or 2 can''t remember. When I inquired what the cut was I was informed it was a round. DUH I then asked what the quality of the cut was, if it was excellent and so forth. He told me it was not excellent but didn''t tell me what it was. I thought it was strange that he just held the diamond up to tell me the color and didn''t know the cut. Does this sound shady? The price for the diamond was about 4100, which my soon to be fiance thought was a little too much if had eye visible flaws. I told him that I wanted no less than a H, VS2,1.00-1.25 carat, and very good cut and that we were budgeting no more than 6k for the diamond. He assured me that he could find one. I''m kind of leary to do business with him, do you think I should be? Also would like to know if you think I''ll be able to find the diamond I want for the price we set. I''m wanting a 3mm pave band with a simple 6 prong setting. Will it possible to find what I want for no more than 8k total? Thanks!
