Is this really cat's eye emerald?

Does this look like a real cat's eye emerald?

It says on www.emeralds.co that cat 's eye emeralds are only from Colombia and Brazil. This is said to be from Afghanistan.

Without a lab report, I’d be reluctant to say its emerald. It’s a dead ringer for catseye tourmaline or apatite as well.

You can get cats eyes from a wide range a places in a range of stones.... I've seen SWAT emerald cat's eyes and Panjshir Valley cats eyes advertised, so unless it's another type of stone (other than emerald) it could indeed be real.

@arkieb1 thanks also. The stone might sell for a lower price than is worth getting a certificate for so I don't know if I should get it checked.

If $150 is a good price for apatite/tourmaline, maybe I'll buy it.

Will an appraisal tell me what it really is? Not saying I would get it appraised. But if I buy it i would really like to know what it is without spending a lot on certification. It actually costs more than 150.
