About a year ago, I purchased 2 diamonds from DCD''s signature series (a little over 1.60tcw) and had them set in white gold martini settings. I absolutely love them and they never leave my ears except to be cleaned and when I sleep. The white gold in a rather short amount of time (approx. 5 months after purchase) has yellowed considerably. I would like to have them reset in platnium martini settings. Here is my question, is it possible/reasonable to take them to a jeweler that does resets and the like in house, have them order settings based on the dimensions of the diamonds from the AGS reports and then when the settings come in, take the earrings to the jeweler and have them reset while I wait? Clearly I do not want to part with them for any length of time and I am just wondering if this is even a possibility?

I''m sure that it''s possible. You''ll have to find a jeweler you feel comfortable with and ask him/her about it.

Good Luck!

What you are describing is a normal process of oxidation that occurs with white gold. White gold starts out as yellow gold and is turned white by the addition of various alloys, these alloys often oxidize with normal wear as they are exposed to the chemicals released by our skin. It is for this reason that most white gold jewelry is plated with rhodium or another white metal, this serves to prolong the oxidation process and keep the metal looking white. The plating can be put back on if it has worn off or if it was never plated in the first place...

It is possible for a jeweler to order the Martini style settings for you with the information off of the lab reports... It is quite likely that Jim at DCD would be willing to assist you with this since you purchased the diamonds from him in the first place.
