Thanks to all of you who replied. Would this diamond be better? It''s a lower clarity, but a higher color and cut.
THANKS!

Again, you can''t buy Radiants without SEEING them. The table is HUUUUUGE on that stone though, but the other specs look better. You need to ask the vendor if the SI2 is eyeclean too. If you can see a big black inclusion on top it''ll ruin the stone ya know?

A general rule is not to have the table bigger than the depth of the stone. I don''t know if it holds true for Radiants or not but that would be a red flag to me.

Again it is hard to say, it may still show some tint, also might not be eyeclean as it is a clarity grade lower. Lots of yellow or coloured diamonds are cut into Radiant shapes for the reason that they do display colour well and that is an advantage with coloured diamonds, but possibly not when one wants a white diamond. Not liking the girdle measurement either, seems to be a lot of variance. Why don't you ask your vendors to send you some photos and get their opinions? Also these diamonds may not be in house, they could be what we call virtual diamonds and just on the cutting house databases, in which case you would have to get the stones brought to your vendor if possible for their assessment. Sorry we can't be of more help, it is just that your vendor is really the best person to help you here.

Can I ask how you came to choose a Radiant? I don''t see too many 2 carat white diamond Radiants around here and I wonder if it''s because they show color and/or hard to choose. Canary radiants can be lovely.

Hi stary,

I know you said you''d read some posts on here, but I was wondering if you caught this. It might help a bit in your search, fancies are tough!

Also don''t go by labels such as Premium Cut on a diamond, they in no way guarantee you a well cut diamond, each has to be seen and assessed individually.

The clariity grade needs to be checked. And the It will probably still be a bit warm. For me in a radiant g/h is as warm as I would go. And I do see some tinge in that range. (but I am color sensative)

Also, this one is rectangular. other one was square. Do you have a preference?

this one is a very long rectangular shape, while the other is more square. Which do you prefer? I originally wanted a rectangle, but all the ones I saw seemed to have bowties, or "dead spots" that had no sparkle. I bought a squarish one (1:07 ration) and it has more sparkle then anything else I''ve seen. Joy

1. The I might still show some tint. You have to see it in person to be 100% sure you are all right with it. Fancy cuts, especially radiants are not forgiving when it comes to colour.
2. Is the SI2 eye clean? Are the inclusions black or white? Where is the location?
3. Depth is sweet but that table is HUGE. Try to stay within 60% to 65% table if you can.
4. Still don't like the thick girdle.
5. I would aim for a Very Good Symmetry rating

I don't have too much faith in the seller's Premium rating. Premium based on what? What is their criteria?
In short, I'll still keep looking. Once you find something that is possibly a winner, you MUST see the diamond in person to make the final decision. Can't buy fancies sight unseen unless you have ASET and Idealscope pictures.

You really need images for radiants. I really can''t say anything more without an image.

A table of 68% is slightly large, but I''m not one of the people who say that it should necessarily be smaller than the depth.
