Is this more funny or cruel?

I say cruel. I wonder what percent of people here say its cruel vs funny have kids. I say cruel because I would never do that to my kids.

I wonder what percent of people who think it's cruel had bad childhoods or bad relationships with their parents growing up. I think that's coloring a lot of the "cruel" responses.

I had a good relationship with my parents growing up so them pulling this same joke on me wouldn't have harmed me or our relationship in any way.

Not for me. I had a wonderful relationship with both my mother and my father. I think they both would have seen this as mean spirited though and would have never done it to me. I would have never done it to my kids either.

It is a valid point though. People that have experienced some sort of cruelty are probably ultra-sensitive to it.

I thought it was funny, but not as funny as the one the parents did for Halloween where they told their kids they ate all their candy!

The Hello Kitty Kid is abusive in this one too (he's shirtless in this one).

This one bothered me more. They were all crying. The two kids in the final clip were funny though (you sneaky Mom!). But I didn't get the "broken promise" feeling from this one. And think the kids would get a happy ending (candy intact) at the end so it's better. Plus Halloween is about TRICK or treat. So it's not the same as Christmas to me.

It's pretty mean. Kids remember things and even my toddler understands when she is being made a fool.
