I had originally set a $6,000 budget so this runs slightly above it but I'm sure she'll love the band (loves infinity symbols) and the diamond seems of good quality but since I dont know much about this stuff what do you guys think?

Also, do you think this would make a nice wedding band or does it look too cheap? http://img0.etsystatic.com/006/0/5885619/il_570xN.354542008_60a9.jpg

Just want to confirm.... is the stone GIA certified?

Also, do you mean that as a wedding band for her, or for you?

Yes it is GIA certified and I was planning on buying matching bands, hers 3mm or 4 and mine 8mm

No, that kind of band doesn't go with that engagement ring. It needs a single thin diamond band that matches the engagement ring or just a plain, thin (2mm) platinum band. I'd go plain regardless and not have that design on it.

I am not so in favor of the quality of that engagement ring, either. It says the stones are I SI2 and good cut.

I'm not one of the experts on these boards, but a GIA Ideal stone is a good sign :) You don't HAVE to have an F color unless your lady has specifically requested something that white or she is very color sensitive. You could save a few bucks if you went down in color to say, a G or H. Other than that, looks good to me so far. Do you have the other info from the report to run it through the HCA calculator that we have here on the site?

Regarding the bands, if she intends to wear both her engagement ring and her wedding band on the same finger, I wouldn't go with that band for her. I'd choose something dainty to match the style of the engagement ring.

I thought the same about the band but was just checking, thanks.

If the color difference isnt greatly noticeable i definitely will consider going down a grade, thanks :). The chart on the diamond shows a 55% table and 61.3% depth with a medium to thick girdle but no crown or pavilion measurements provided

Gabriel and Company carry some engagement rings similar to that one, and I believe they use a little higher quality of diamonds. You could go through Good Old Gold or ID Jewelry to get a diamond and then have them order you one of these rings. (You can get them in platinum at a higher price.)

Incidentally, I don't like those shaped wedding bands, either. Just a plain straight one looks better to me. But you don't have to buy the wedding band now. You can wait and order that closer to the time of the wedding.

As far as the diamond goes, I prefer vendors that show pictures of the stones. That stone has very good for symmetry and I would have to see that before deciding. I think G color is fine, too.

The first one is the same style but looks a lot better, so far I think I'll go with this one now thank you, the matching band is also nice but I think I would prefer something that is just solid platnuim without the diamonds but in that shape. I will check James Allen and the two you listed for a diamond
