Hi everyone,

Can you tell me if you think this ring is a good deal or not? Here is a link to the ebay posting:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Elegant-Tacori-Diamond-Engagement-Ring-/320825722814?pt=Diamond_Solitaire_with_Accents&hash=item4ab2b407be#ht_500wt_1287

Description:
Certification Type: EGL
Certificate #: 88826001D

Here you'll see a gorgeous lady's 18 karat white gold diamond engagement ring. The center diamond is a round brilliant cut weighing 1.73 carats, and is EGL certified as H in color, and SI2 in clarity. This elegant mounting is custom made by Tacori (style #2620RD) with round brilliant cut accent diamonds around the center diamond and down the shank in an "Art Deco" antique style with a total weight of .37 carats - these accent diamonds appear to be G in color and VS in clarity.

This gorgeous ring is sitting in its original box, in absolutely perfect condition. This ring looks like it’s straight off of the pages of a magazine and is the same design that Tacori uses in much of his advertising. In addition to this ring’s elegant setting, it boasts an incredible brilliant-cut diamond (1.73 carats) with brilliant-cut accent diamonds on the shank of the ring (an additional .37 carats). The diamond catches the light perfectly and easily looks like it could be a full 2 carats in this setting.

This ring still has every single bit of paper work on file, including appraisals (recently appraised for $19,375 - paper work available), receipts, and certificates (both Tacori and EGL certifications). This ring is truly one in a million. I'll be posting more photos this evening.

Well, the setting is beautiful but I wouldn't want the diamond. An EGL H SI2 is probably equivalent to a J-K-L SI2-I1 GIA stone and who knows what the cut is like. I just wouldn't touch it. A setting alone, yes. But not with a diamond that is probably poor quality.

I don't know if that's just me but the centre stone looks a bit too yellowish for a H...I also wouldn't trust a SI2 graded by EGL.

on all three photos with blue background the focus is off, the focus is suppose to be on the diamond.

I looked up the egl cert, and the stone is poorly cut. The crown angle is 27.2, pavilion 42 - the HCA (Hollowway cut advisor) results say that the low crown angle can result in chipping and not to buy it.

Thanks everyone for your replies--I also looked up the report and plugged the numbers into the HCA, why is it that it won't even give an HCA #? I know it gives a warning that says low crown angle can result in chipping of the girdle but still no score.

One last thing--the tacori setting that the diamond is in is already valued at $3500, Do you think that this 1.73 carat stone is not even worth 5-6k?

Just curious, again thanks for responding!
