Hi belgian,

It''s got potential. Can you get an idealscope or ASET picture of it?

Hi Ellen,

Unfortunately no.

As Ellen said, it has potential.

One way to get confirmation would be to see if your vendor could ship to an independent appraiser in your area for evaluation.

Ok. If this is online, and you''re really interested, I would agree with Alison, and have it sent to an IA for evaluation. If budget is tight, and you don''t want to pay for shipping and the appraiser, I''d say try and stick to AGS0 stones. They take most of the guesswork out of trying to find a decent stone. That advice could apply to shopping locally as well.

If AGS0''s aren''t available, or in the budget, here''s a kind of cheat sheet to use with GIA as far as crown and pavillion combos. While there are stones with pavillion angles greater than 41 that are fine, it''s best when pictures and other info aren''t available, to keep it at 41 and under.

HTH!
