Hello, I am looking to buy an engagement ring and not sure what to look for in a cushion. I found one but don''t know if it is good or not. Here is the cert. Is this alright?

Thanks

The fact the description of which EGL lab has been blacked out probably indicates it is Israel and you should expect the stone to cost less than one with another report and the same stated grades.

We will need ideal-scopes, ASETs and stuff to help more.

I blacked out the number as I wasn''t sure if it is a good idea or not to post here. It is from EGL Isreal. Would having the full number allow access to ideal-scopes, ASETs and stuff? Not sure what that is, how can I get that info?

Thanks

Only from the vendor.

EGL Israel will not give you anything

Sure they will. They''ll give you a F stone graded as D

Maybe you can ask Mark. I would love to know the answer!

I have seen some 8 main pavillion cushion brilliant mistakenly get graded as modified brillant.

wow...never saw that facet plot before. Maybe its unique to EGL???

The specs dont throw out any red flags but unfortunately cushions cant be judged purely on numbers. Can you at least post some pics of the stone?

No, not unique to EGL...it kinda looks like a Cushette which is a bit princess like...I happen to really love that look...I'd LOVE to see this sucker in a picture...
I know there is a GOG video on PS showing a cushette...I'd search for it...

Vendor wasn''t sure what Ideal-scopes or ASET were. He asked if I was referring to a porportion scope which are geared toward Rounds and there really isn''t a defined ideal cut for a cushion and that is is like saying that a 120 pound female should be 5"3.

Would a picture actually help? Its a hike for me to drive but perhaps I will if a picture can really do.

second moremoremore...it probably looks like a princess trapped in a cushion's body.

ASET can be pretty useful on fancies.

we are also saying that there is no defined standard for ideal cut in a cushion, so that's why a picture would really help us on PS, who cannot see the stone.

A lot of people in our trade wish cut grading of any form would go away.
Ask to have the stone sent to an appraiser with the tools.
Or you can get your own ASET scope (best, or Ideal-scope - easier to use) and learn to take photo''s with it.
