Is this cushion cut loose diamond a good deal?

I just want to know if this is a good deal price-wise and also if it is a good size based upon its carat weight. Here are the specs:

FYI: I have seen the ring and it is pretty much white facing up and it is lively.

Any thoughts?

If the diamond is with a jeweller then that can sometimes make the cost more expensive, you can compare prices of similar by using the Pricescope your Diamond search tool above, enter your specs then that will bring up others as a comparison. The prices given are for online stones so if you add a bit extra for stores then that should give you a ballpark figure.

As for the diamond itself, cushions need to be seen to be judged. I would look at as many cushions as you can in person so you have a good idea of what type you like, then if this one fits the bill then fine.

Thanks for your help! I just "pricescoped" the diamond and it turns out the online GIA certified stones with specs similar to mine run about about $5800 per carat, i.e. $9,000+ for a 1.56 diamond.

My diamond is an online stone and I''ve compared it with others and it is very lively and white facing-up. The $7,960 price is a total price, so it looks like a got a pretty good deal.

I wonder what the wholesale price to the retailer was...

Hi, just like a PSer said above cushions can''t be judged by numbers. You might be able to use numbers to narrow down the ones you look at but even then there will be alot of variety from cushion to cushion.

If you like it compared to the other cushions you''ve viewed then go for it!!

The specs look fine as far as I can tell but really all they give us is a chalk outline of the diamond. Like with people we all have 2 eyes, a nose and a mouth, but those three features can give very different results! If you like the diamond see if you can compare it with others and take this one out away from the store lights to see how it looks in everyday lighting.
